Raymond D. - Cascade Division Prayers

Greetings All,

I hope you are all having a good Memorial Day weekend. Maybe a chance for a socially distant BBQ or time with friends and family. You all have been working hard so please carve out some time for yourselves. Today we hear for Patty Cameron, the Coordinator for the Twin Falls Service Extension Center. She writes about a note she received: “Hi Patty, Thank you for the card. I didn’t expect that. It was nice to get. I was homeless at one time so I appreciate the help I got from Salvation Army when I was living on the streets in Oregon and Idaho. Things are good now and God has blessed me to be able to work from home doing what I love to do. I will continue to give to Salvation Army as much as I can. Thank you for the card and the message. It blessed me. God bless you all for what you do. Thanks again, Jim L.” That is the kind of affirmation that lets you know that it is all worthwhile. Jim didn’t have to write the note, nor did he have to donate, but I think God nudged him and it made Patty’s day. God is good.

Proverbs 25:11 reminds us, “Like a snow-cooled drink at harvest time is a trustworthy messenger to the one who sends him; he refreshes the spirit of his master.”

Let’s pray,

Lord we love you and praise your name. You are our Lord and Savior; in you do we place our faith. May we wait for you, may we be still and know that you are God, may we exalt you.

Thank you for the good work that Patty Cameron and the people of the Twin Falls Service Extension Center are doing for you in their town and communities around it. Point the way they need to go to serve, specially during this time of virus. Give them the strength and courage to continue serving You and their neighbors. Give them also the rest and encouragement they need to stay strong and to stay focused on others. Thank you for Jim L. and his uplifting note of appreciation. We all need that now and then. Thank you for meeting our needs.

Lord, send your encouragement to every corps, every program, every service extension unit and center in the division. Keep them all safe, keep them all healthy, and give to all of them renewal on this holiday weekend. Thank you for the opportunity this special weekend provides, an opportunity to remember and honor those who gave so very much. Most of all, thank you for salvation. We ask these thing in your precious name.

Amen.

If you have a story you would like to share with the division in our nightly prayers and praise, let us know so we can lift you up soon.

God Bless,
