32 dead in Madagascar

ANTANANARIVO (Reuters) - At least 32 people were killed in Madagascar in an area north of the capital on Friday after local bandits known as "dahalo" set homes on fire, according to statements by the defence ministry.

The killings occurred in Ankazobe district, about 75 kilometres (47 miles) north of the capital Antananarivo overnight into Friday.

Research for the 2022 World Watch List reveals that in 2021, more Christians were murdered for their faith in Nigeria than in any other country. Last year, Nigeria accounted for nearly 80% of Christian deaths worldwide, with more than 4,650 believers killed. The death toll once again makes Nigeria the world’s most violent place for Christians—for the second consecutive year.

“We can document that 4,650 Nigerian Christians were killed during the previous reporting period for the 2022 World Watch List,” says Open Doors CEO David Curry. “Those are just those we know about—and can report. They were tracked, targeted, raped and killed . . . because they were Christians.”

Open Door USA - Cameroon

Pray fervently today for our sisters and brothers in Cameroon as extremists continue their mission to cripple and eradicate the local church.

At around 3 a.m. on May 31, the village of Hitawa awoke to a startling sound. Boko Haram militants had invaded their small alcove. In the following moments, residents listened in fear as the militants shot randomly into their homes and then set fire to houses.

When the fighting stopped, the village was empty. All residents had fled, a source said. Local newspapers report 10 people killed (7 civilians and 3 soldiers), 4 of them identified as Christian members of the local evangelical church. Two children were kidnapped and at least 30 houses looted and destroyed. Several others were injured.

A church leader shared, "The army has left, and the people no longer have a choice. The people are obliged to leave the little they have because all hope seems lost."

Every now and then God does something big that dramatically changes our lives.  It happened again last week when The Salvation Army announced that Lisa and I will be moving to Singapore Malaysia, Myanmar Territory on November 1.  We are excited about this new adventure and hope and pray we make many new friends and that all our present friends (and family) come visit us! I have not been able to sleep well. They took me off the Ivy pain medicine so I have definitely been feeling the pain. My hiccups returned yesterday morning. I have been dealing with hiccups since Thursday morning at 7:00 am. It is now day 4 of the hiccups. They are wiping me out. I can’t sleep and they make the pain worse. Please pray both the pain and hiccups will go away before I go home today and not come back when I get home. I want some rest and sleep. Thank you.
