Ethiopian Christians Killed

Ethiopia: A priest at the Arsema Monastery described the sudden drone attack that killed several Christians during a service.

The regime has reportedly carried out a drone strike on a Christian monastery.

Two nuns and six priests were killed in the daylight attack on the Arsema Monastery in Wollo, which was holding a church service.

Many more Christians are injured.

Pray for the Christians affected by this evil act.

Jillian O B - Health Update 6

Life update #6: 

It’s been 20 days since my first chemo treatment, and tomorrow (Day 21) I’m back for Round 2. The first round kicked my butt for 14 days, but these last 6 days I’ve been chilling at about 85%. I didn’t know 85% could feel so amazing. Had a meet up with the oncology team today and they are going to give me extra fluids for hydration to see if that helps the side effects. I am hoping not to feel like I did 2 weeks ago. But alas, here we go again. 

Prayers are greatly appreciated. And while you’re at it, check in on Mike. He’s been a good one through all of this, and caregivers carry a lot more than people see. Send him a text, give him a hug (he loves them), or send him a Red Bull to remind him he’s doing an incredible job. He deserves lots of love and support too. 

Here’s to Round 2... may the side effects be ever in my favor.

I’ve also been binge reading and watching “The Hunger Games,” if you couldn’t tell.

Nigerian Pastor Dochomo's Family Deaths

It happened at midnight in Kum village, Plateau State, in Nigeria's Middle Belt. Fulani gunmen stormed the family compound of Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, the pastor who has spent years exposing the slaughter of Nigerian Christians. They demanded, "Where is the father of this house?" He was not home. So they opened fire on his family, killing nine relatives, including a two month old baby.

Days later, the same militia sent Pastor Dachomo a written death threat: you are next. This is a man who has stood at more than 70 mass burials for murdered believers, whose voice was recently amplified by President Trump, and whose crime is refusing to stay quiet. His response to the threat on his life: "I cannot run away."

The numbers behind his story defy belief. A six year study found Fulani militias responsible for over 79,000 deaths in Nigeria, roughly 36 people every single day, more than Boko Haram and ISIS combined. The U.S. State Department is now demanding Nigeria act. Pastor Dachomo keeps preaching with a target on his back. What would it take for the world to finally look? Pray for him by name tonight.

Don M. - Surgery Recovery and Healing

Many of you know that Don had brain surgery on Wednesday, July 15. His neurosurgeon was pleased with the results of the surgery and the progress he is making towards his recovery. He was transferred to the rehab section of the hospital in order to be given more intensive physical, occupational and speech therapy. The plan is he will be discharged to Home health care on July 31. We would appreciate your continued prayer for Don‘s full recovery. God is good and has been answering our prayers

Ugandan Pastor Killed - pray for his family

PASTOR, 25, KILLED HOURS AFTER CHRISTIAN-MUSLIM DEBATE

A young Christian pastor in Uganda was killed just hours after taking part in a public debate where two Muslim women reportedly converted to Christianity.

Pastor Bernard Mulongo, 25, traveled to Mbale on July 18 for an open-air Christian-Muslim dialogue. A pastor who witnessed the event said Mulongo’s arguments persuaded members of the crowd, including two prominent Muslim women who publicly converted.

According to witnesses, an imam who participated in the debate became angry and confronted Mulongo afterward, allegedly warning him:

“Bernard, you deserve death for blasphemous deeds and leading our people to that false religion.”

Hours later, after Mulongo appeared on a local radio program, he and a friend were traveling by motorcycle when several men blocked their path. His friend escaped and called police, but Mulongo was later found dead with multiple injuries, according to Morning Star News.

The imam is now among the suspects in the killing. Police were investigating and had made no arrests as of the report.

Mulongo leaves behind a wife and two young children, just 4 and 7 years old.

Jillian O B. - Health Update

Life update #7: 

Infusion day was supposed to be a quick one hour visit. However, my body had other plans and instead wanted me at the infusion center from 9:40 am to 1:40 pm. 

Everything started out normal. Port accessed? Check. Pre-meds? Check. After every med that I receive, the nurses have to flush my port, and draw back blood to make sure that the port is still accessing the vein to my heart. Fascinating, I know! 

Except... no blood. So they flushed it again. And again. About 4-5 times. Normally when they flush your port, you get this weird taste in your mouth because... science. Today? Nothing. Which, according to the nurses, was not a good sign. 

Cue the order for clot-busting meds. Round one: 20-minute wait. More flushing. Nothing. Round two: 90-minute wait. More flushing. Still nothing.

At this point, three different nurses came alongside to try and get this port online. They had me walk, lean forward, lie flat, turn on my side, raise my arms, turn my head and cough (interesting tactic), and even re-accessed my port. Still nothing. Two hours in and I hadn't even started chemo yet. 

Time to pivot with an IV infusion. Meanwhile, the nurses kept checking the port because apparently I'm not allowed to leave until it decides to cooperate.

Then... hallelujah, blood return! They switched my hydration back to the port.

Everything finished around 1:30, and all that was left was one final flush and blood draw.

And…..NOTHING.

At this point my nurse looked at me and said, "You are defying science because the science isn't sciencing. We get blood, then we don't. I haven't seen anything like this in years. I'm going to be thinking about this all day." And, honestly... samesies.

Well there you have it everyone. I’m a mess! I go back tomorrow for hydration, and if my port is still misbehaving, I'll need a scan to make sure the tubing is actually where it's supposed to be. So prayers for that! 

Today's side effect dry mouth, making swallowing difficult even with the extra hydration. Seriously?! 

Kudos to Ryan, who drove and planned to come for a one hour appointment, but instead got a front row seat to four hours of medical mystery theater. 

Introducing Dr. Bearpathi, a gift from Dylan and Peyton. He is named after my oncologist Dr. Bupathi. 😂

Rose M. - Jim's Health

Please pray for Jim! He has a heart cath tomorrow at 10 am to check his 5 stents and make sure no new blockage! We are so thankful of how God has been with him since his major heart attack the widow maker 18 years ago this month! We know your love and prayers has been with us on this journey! Shelley B. - Health Update

Well, time for an update!

🧠 MRI showed that my medication is still killing the tumor! The seizure doctor has adjusted my medication and I am going strong on it—23 days and no seizures! 

Praising God for His continued healing and power (and will praise Him still with the next seizure—He is ALWAYS a good God!) and now…

🚨JUST IN | Today I found out something about Pete Hegseth that gave me chills I cannot shake. And I need every American to know about it right now. Because what this man just started doing inside the most powerful military building on earth… is something that no headline has fully captured. And it deserves to be heard by every single American alive today. Pete Hegseth… Secretary of Defense… the man running the most powerful military on earth… started a monthly prayer service at the Pentagon. Let that sink in for one moment. The Pentagon. The building where decisions are made that affect every soldier serving this country right now. The building that carries the weight of America’s entire military on its walls. That building… now starts every month on its knees. Before God. Together. Because Pete Hegseth decided that before any briefing… before any meeting… before any decision that sends men and women into harm’s way… America’s military would ask God for guidance first. And here is what gave me the deepest chills this morning. This is not a man who found faith when it was convenient. This is not a man performing for cameras. This is a Princeton graduate who walked away from Wall Street… who chose a uniform instead of a comfortable career… who went to Iraq… who went to Afghanistan… who came home carrying things that most people will never understand… and who somewhere in all of that… found a faith so deep and so real… that today he is making sure the most powerful military on earth starts every month in prayer. Think about what Pete saw in those deployments. 

Think about what his eyes witnessed. Think about the moments he carried home that he has never fully shared with the world. And then think about a man who went through all of that… and came out the other side not broken… but believing more deeply than ever that without God… none of it means anything. That is not a Pentagon policy. That is a man’s testimony. Walking into the most powerful office in the American military… and refusing to leave God outside the door. And Trump saw all of that. Before anyone else did. He looked at Pete Hegseth… a soldier who survived things most people cannot imagine… a man whose faith grew stronger in the hardest places on earth… and said — this is the man I want leading America’s military. Not because he was the safest choice. Because he was the most real one. Today… I want every single American to stop. 

And say a prayer for Pete Hegseth. For every soldier he leads. For every decision he carries. And for every monthly prayer service happening inside those Pentagon walls… that most of America will never hear about. Jillian Treament/Health Update

Life update #5: 

It’s been a week since my first chemo injection. Nausea, slight fever, runny nose, chills, achy bones, stomach cramps, muscle spasms, and crazy fatigue. Apparently it’s nicknamed, “chemo flu.” 

The best way I can describe it is that it feels like I got in a fight and they really had it out for my face and stomach. On the outside, I might look mostly okay, but on the inside we have a full on Fight Club going on.

First rule of Fight Club is you don’t talk about Fight Club… 

screw that. 

People should be aware of what bodies go through during chemo. Chemo goes after the fastest growing cells in the body: hair, the digestive tract, the skin, bone marrow, finger nails and toe nails, the reproductive system, AND cancer cells too!

Unfortunately, the healthy cells are taking some heavy punches along the way as my body is beating itself up all over trying to get a few knock out punches on the breast cancer.

So if I seem a little slower, filterless, groggier, or disappear for a bit, don't worry. I’ll be back… whoops… that’s a different action movie.

🇳🇬 79,323 people were killed in 15,434 Islamist attacks across Nigeria between October 2019 and September 2025. Christian civilians were disproportionately targeted, facing a 4.4-times higher risk of death and a 3.2-times higher risk of abduction than Muslim civilians.

Fulani terrorist groups and other unidentified Islamist groups were responsible for more civilian deaths and abductions than Boko Haram and ISIS-West Africa combined. Christian captives were often subjected to harsher treatment during abductions.

Mike O B. - Jillians Cancer Treatment Progress

Cancer doesn’t just reorganize your calendar, it rearranges the furniture of your soul.

As I wait, and Jillian undergoes her first chemo treatment, I think about things I “know” in the face of cancer.

Control: I knew there was lots I didn’t control before, but cancer reminds me that there are things going on in our bodies, life or death things, that go on all the time that we have NO control over.

And with chemo we trust OTHER people, people we didn’t even know before today to do things, life or death things, inside our body too!

Hope: cancer is a great reminder that hope isn’t simply optimism. It can be something much sturdier.

Optimism says, “I think everything will work out.” (Nothing wrong with optimism, but hope is more)

Hope says, “Even if everything doesn’t work out the way I want, God is still faithful.”

Last thought as I wait… I'm surprised at how many folk speak so much louder on their phones in the waiting room than they do in person.
