Laura F. - mom’s Health

“What a day! I knew it was going to be hard. Today would have been my 30th wedding anniversary  ... my 8th without him. I miss him so very much.

Then, I woke up to a message that my mom was in the hospital on a ventilator.  Apparently,  she had a heart attack last night and was without a pulse for 30 to 45 minutes while waiting for the ambulance to get there (she lives in the middle of nowhere). They performed CPR and were able to get her heart started. They life flighted her from one hospital to another where they found her to have Pneumonia and put her on the ventilator. She is unresponsive and they don't have much hope. Today she has had seizure after seizure. My sister lives closest (6-7 hours away) and is driving down tomorrow to assess the situation.

Please, prayer warriors, pray for my mom. Her name is Melody. Pray also for wisdom for the doctors and us as we decide what to do. Thank you.“

Matt G. - Health

"Well, I am sick with an upper respiratory infection. So I will be tested tomorrow to make sure I don’t have Covid-19. I would appreciate any prayers - that I might feel better!"

Mark G. - Back Healing

"Prayers appreciated!  Happens once or twice a year - usually stress and is better in a few days but I can’t afford to be laid up right now so need to get moving."

Glory S. - Dad's Update

~UPDATE!!~
My dad is out of surgery and the doctor said that it was successful and everything went well! He is out of the recovery room now and we are heading back home. He will have to go through a few weeks of recovery but knowing him it will be a week🤔. He is so strong and I know that God’s got him. The next time you see him, he should be feeling a lot better! Right now he is a little out of it but even after surgery he is still smiling (partially because it was buy one get one free at Starbucks😂)

Glory S. - Dad's (Butch) Surgery/Recovery

Please pray for my dad because he is having back surgery today. If you didn’t know he has spinal stenosis and piriformis. He has been in a lot of pain for a long time and I am so glad that he is able to get the surgery now. I am praying and hoping that the surgery will go well🙏🏼❤️

Raymond E.K. - Fire In California

“Please keep Chris Audette (Center Director The Salvation Army Kroc Center - San Francisco), his family, and all people in Fairfield, California (Solano County) as they were ordered to vacate their homes due to the wildfires.  Praying that the fires don’t destroy property and that firefighters help prevent more damage. #prayerworks #protection #wildfires “

Roy W. - Advisory Board (fire toward his home) in California

Roy: Please pray for this beautiful family. Mike is on our Advisory Board and a tremendous servant to this community. Pray for protection, for firefighters safety, and for the fires to subside.

Mike: If you think about it say a prayer for our family. We were evacuated earlier today and told by firefighters that we are 90% to loose our home this evening or tomorrow to wild fires. Kids of course are having a hard time, but we are all safe in a hotel and happy to have each other.

Brett is found and doing well - Praise the Lord!

Scott M. - Devo Prayer

God of justice and mercy, I come before You now with an awareness of those whose prayers today are sighs, sobs or even screams for help. Soften my heart to care more keenly, sharpen my mind to think more clearly, and clench my fists to fight more fiercely for those who are oppressed...

Lord, it’s easy to blame everyone else for the world’s injustices but I know that I can be hard-hearted towards the needs of others. I hate human trafficking but then I buy cheap products made in sweat shops without checking their source, and I tolerate a culture that glamourises porn. I claim to care about the poor but I don’t know the names - or the needs - of some of the people in my own street. Forgive my hypocrisy. Break my heart with the things that break Yours. Amen.  —Prayers from Lectio 365 Devotional

Franklin G. - Kauai, Hawaii/ Churches

Here’s another example of Democratic-led state and local government targeting people of faith. It seems they have no respect for God. We have a friend who is a pastor in Kauai, Hawaii, and he said that the state government and county prosecutor are targeting their church because they won’t turn away 75% of their attendance. Pastor Steve Rex shared that it is unfair and troubling that large businesses and restaurants get away with it, but the church is told to comply or suffer the consequences. This is happening in other Democratic-led states as well, such as California with Pastor John MacArthur’s Grace Community Church.

Pastor Rex said they have no COVID-19 cases in the church and have had no deaths on the island. They are being threatened with a fine of thousands of dollars or imprisonment if they don’t comply. Pastor Rex said, “People are hurting they say church is the only place they feel alive. I can’t turn people away please pray for me.” Join me in praying for Pastor Rex, Calvary Chapel North Shore Kauai, and other churches seeking to assemble, worship, and minister to people during this pandemic.

Tony Compollo - Hospital/ Health

Below was shared by Mark Hollingsworth

An update on Tony Campolo from his son, Bart, as he continues to work his way back from the stroke he suffered in June:

"Dad’s working hard in rehab, but his progress is slow. He’s got a great attitude, however, especially in light of the fact that even my mother still isn’t allowed into his room. Instead, she spends much of each hot summer day masked and perched on a plastic chair in the bushes outside his open window, talking with him through the screen. The rest of us do the same when we visit, in between socially distant picnics with Mom at a nearby park."

"Regardless, it looks like my folks' recovery / adjustment is going to be a long and difficult process. In the meantime, my father is still thoughtful and funny and intense and prayerful. He’s more patient now, however, and more peaceful as well. While I was there, we talked about theology and politics, basketball and movies, grandkids (and his one great-grandkid) and legacies, all with an overriding sense of wonder and gratitude. As usual, I was inspired by the richness of his life. My mother is worried about the future, and exhausted in the present, but she too is slowly learning to find meaning, and even bits of joy, in the midst of this crisis."

"You know, kind of like we’re all doing right now."

Christie F. - Dad PTG

It was a tough day for me. We laid my dad to rest at the Makawao Veteran's Cemetery. I really wanted to be there with my family. I got to be there via video chat. I hate being so far away. I miss my dad, my hero and first best friend. Dad, no be kolohe and make pilikia for the angels! I love you forever!!!

Franklin G. - Beirut

Yesterday’s massive explosion in Beirut, Lebanon, was heard and felt nearly 150 miles away in Cyprus. The count is now at at least 135 people killed, more than 5,000 injured, and 300,000 lost their homes. The explosion was just a few hundred yards from the Karantina Alliance Church, which was founded and pastored for decades by my dear friend Reverend Sami Dagher. I talked with Sami, and the church, its Bible school, and its offices have a lot of damage. The country and the people are devastated. Samaritan's Purse will be helping the church and as many as we can in the community. Would you join me in praying for Sami and the Karantina Alliance Church today? Please also pray for the families who lost loved ones and those who have been most impacted by this horrible incident.

Maureen L. - mom's health

Hi friends, please pray for me and family, it seems my mom is facing her last days here...
