Dear Friends,

Re: Prayer For Children Sunday August 1, 2010.
We are pleased to share with you the special observance installment for The Salvation Army's World Prayer Initiative - 'Prayer for Children' which is scheduled for August 1, 2010.
The special observance program day - 'Prayer for Children day', as decided by the International Conference of Leaders and the General, is to take place on the closest Sunday to July 30 each year - this being the date , in 1880, on which the evangelical work among children began in response to the passionate representations made to the Founder by Captain John Roberts.

The theme for this years, 'Prayer for Children' Sunday is ‘Children, Come!’ based on Matthew 19:13-16.
Use the link below to download the Program for the 'Prayer For Children' Special Observance. When prompted, click SAVE. The file will be titled 'PFC'. Once the file has saved, locate and open the file and use as usual.

Youth Works

Praise the Lord for Youth Works in coordinating different churches to minister to the kids at Red Shield. They have sent different youth groups and leaders since July 8th (Summer Day Camp ends on Aug. 6th). This week, for example, a youth group from Indianapolis (Free Methodist Church) was here. Tomorrow, they leave for Col. Springs and then head back home. What a wonderful opportunity to connect different organizations and minister in the Lord's Name. May the Lord bless Youth Works, its Leadership and its ministries! May this Summer never be forgotten, in terms of what God has done through people!

We have just learned that Major Jeanne B., Women's Ministries Secretary (Intermountain Divisional Headquarters) was taken to the hospital while she was attending the 2010 National Brengle Holiness Institute at the College for Officer Training in Chicago, Illinois. Her original diagnosis was the flu; however, her symptoms quickly developed into full blown pneumonia. She has been given medications to relieve her discomfort. Major Jeanne was tested for a blood clot in her lung and thankfully, this was ruled out. Major Jeanne B. was discharged from the local hospital and will travel back to Colorado tomorrow. Please keep Major Jeanne B. in your prayers as she travels back home.
