Hello. This is Diane - Mick's wife and I am sad to let you know Mick passed away May 5th. I'm sorry I am just now getting around to let his friends know. Blessings.

Jean B. - Gary’s health

“Please pray for my nephew, Garry, my sister Gloria’s son. He had a severe heart attack, an ulcer the size of a baseball, and is now on dialysis (not strong enough for transplant surgery) His heart is very damaged, but they can't do surgery until his kidneys and liver begin to function. The doctors are amazed he is still alive. He is in God's hands, please pray. Thank you for all of your prayers for so many of our Corps family. God bless.”

Sid S. - Mission Journey

“So, tonight our journey begins.  We first heard of the possibilities of helping out in Vilnius, Lithuania, in July of last year.  We made our decision to go (with God's help) in August, and now we board the plane to Vilnius tonight at 11:00 pm.  Please pray for the people there in Vilnius!!!  Pray their hearts can be ready to accept the work of Jesus, and the Gospel of our Lord, in their hearts and in their community!  Please pray that anyone who stands against the work starting and growing there will be standing against the desire of God and His holy angels!  Thank you all so much for the prayers and support.  We love you and will miss everyone while we do this important work!”

Ernest I. - health

FYI: Quick summary of my 2017 Medical Mis-Adventures. 😒

1) Kidney Failure (4-hr. Hemodialysis - Tue., Thu., Sat.)
2) Congestive Heart Failure (Open-Heart Quadruple Bypass)
3) Left Foot All Toes Amputated (Bone Infection, Bad circulation in lower legs from Diabetes.)

BTW, recovery is a frustrating process and seems to take WAY TOO LONG! Ughhh!

I pray for good health to all of you, my friends and family.

Blessings! 🙂”

Jessie and Kyle W. - Vehicle Accident

“This morning was a terrifying morning. Kyle was taking me to work and we were rear ended at a stop on the freeway. The poor girl who hit us was going almost 70mph and didn’t realize we had stopped. Our truck was smoking, and when I went to get out, my seatbelt was jammed and I was stuck. That was one of the scariest moments of my life. Kyle went into beast mode and was able to rip the seat belt off of me. He also was able to rip the jammed door open of the women in her vehicle because she was also stuck. Both vehicles are totaled, but we all walked away alive and that truly is such a blessing given the severity of the accident. Kyle and I are banged up pretty bad and are currently at the hospital getting checked out.
Thank you Jesus for protecting everyone involved! We’re pretty shaken up right now, but hoping our scans all come back clear. Thanking God things didn’t turn out worse 🙏🏻”

EDS- Pahoa

Please continue to pray for the people of Puna Hawaii. They have left their homes that were affected by the volcano and some are at the shelter. This is going into the third week of Emergency Disaster Service. The Salvation Army primary function are four fold: Manage feeding at the shelter, incoming donation and distribution, Case Management and Help with clothing voucher. Please pray for all of our leaders and volunteers. Also praise the Lord for those churches, organizations, and businesses that have stepped up to help feed the people at the three shelter sites (three in Pahoa, one in Keaau and one at Sure Foundation church). Pray that the lava will stop so that the people can go back home.

Mary N. - Family’s Health

“Hey Church Family, I’ve got a prayer request. As some of you know, my Dad has been to the doctor about his heart. He has multiple blocked arteries and the doctors were making a plan on the best course of action. My Dad, Mark A D., is going in for a quadruple bypass surgery next Wednesday. There is not another alternative. This has risks but they are doable. So please keep him, my mom (Martha), and my whole family in your prayers. Thanks so much!”

Bob S. - wife’s health

“I will try and be breef:
Saturday morning (May 19) Esther was feeling bad, had the runs and noticed her stool was bright red.  Normally this is an immediate red flag however we have seen this in the past after we ate beets.
Long story short:
It was a problem.  We went to Hilo hospital E.R. and they sent her by air to Queens Hospital in Honolulu.  She left about midnight.  Sunday morning they did the evaluation and scheduled a colonoscaphy for 11 Monday. They found the problme and she is resting.  She has had quite a few visitors of relatives in Honolulu.  We don't know anything more at this time.  Pray for her.”

North Korea - Christianity

GODTV.com recently published a post about our hopes for a new day for the proclamation of the Gospel in North Korea. This followed the historic meeting between Kim Jong Un and Moon Jae-in, the leaders of North and South Korea. Now it seems North Korea is prepared to release three Christian leaders, which is unprecedented. Furthermore, a prominent prophetic preacher is saying “North Korea will open its doors to Christianity”.

For this to happen, it would be a complete turnaround, but we know that our God is able to do this. As Proverbs 21.1 says, The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord… He turns it wherever He wishes.” It’s so important therefore, that the Body of Christ throughout the world continues to trust God for His intervention in North Korea. We must keep praying.

High Council - S.A. world

CALL TO PRAYER FOR THE HIGH COUNCIL 2018

General André Cox has asked us to stand together in prayer as we anticipate the start of the High Council:

‘As the High Council convenes in May, The Salvation Army’s leaders from around the world will be tasked with electing the next General, the 21st leader of our global Army. Friends, would you join me in praying – very simply – that God’s will be done? Many column inches, tweets, Facebook posts and blogs will be written – of that I have no doubt – but it boils down to this: Listening to God’s still, small voice. And then acting decisively on it.

‘So pray for the members of the High Council. Pray, too, for the man or woman who will take on the leadership of The Salvation Army as General in August. But as you pray, ensure that – as you pause today – you also listen for God’s still, small voice. Is the Holy Spirit gently nudging you to do something? Perhaps to speak to or offer a helping hand to a friend, colleague or neighbour? Is God calling you to take a more radical step in your discipleship journey?’

The High Council members are pictured here by region: Africa, Americas & Caribbean, Europe, IHQ, South Asia and South Pacific & East Asia.

A High Council comprises all active Salvation Army commissioners, territorial commanders and territorial presidents of women’s ministries."

Zach H. - health

"Not feeling good. At the hospital right now. Prayers would be appreciated."

Sid S. - Mission

"Well, most of you all know that we have been called to serve in the beautiful city of Vilnius, Lithuania, to start a brand new Salvation Army work and ministry there.  As you see in the pictures, it is a beautiful place.  But there are a lot of broken people there, a lot of depression, a lot of suicide.  They need the comforting arms of a great Savior, and so we go to bring that love through the Salvation Army.  Please keep us in prayer as we will be attempting a very difficult task there.  We will be leaving the states on May 27th, and will be there for at least three years.  If you'd like to support us there, please contact me by messenger.  Thank you for your prayers!"

Thandiwe's Mom

"There comes a time in life when God calls us home when our journey is done.  Heaven gained an angel on May 1, 2018. Our mother,Ora Ferguson is now dancing and walking down streets of gold in a body that has been 100% healed wearing a marshmellow marmalade smile!  Momma is gone but never forgotten and her legacy lives on through every life she touched. I salute you momma and will end with the words you used as your signature, "love you"!"

Erin K. - Home Safety & Security

"Friends, please pray for us, I am convinced it is spiritual warfare. In Sacramento our house and cars were broken into, now here in peaceful Colorado Springs- my car was broken into a month ago, and last night people got into the car, opened the garage door, and were in our house at 2:30 am- Amber my 18 year old heard them downstairs, and had David call 911. So discouraging. Back to locking every window, door, getting an alarm system and cameras."
