Elisha R. - baby Hazel

Sweet Hazel had a super long day but behaved herself during all the testing! Today we learned good news mixed with a bit of not so good.

Good news first: Hazel has gained another 4 ounces putting her just shy of 10 pounds! With this weight gain, the cardiologist was able to see that the hole in her heart is closing!!!

Not so great news: with the ECHO it was found that Hazel’s valves are not fully connected to her heart. Her cardiologist has given Hazel 3 months to gain enough weight to see if putting on the chunk will put pressure on the valves and push them closer to her heart. We were told that sometimes in infancy there is still time for the heart to correct this issue as a baby grows (this can take 2-3 years to fully correct.) If in 3 months her heart doesn’t show progress she will need to have stints and coils placed to connect the valves to her heart.

With all this news one thing is so super clear: God CAN perform miracles and your prayers are being heard! Please continue to pray for complete healing over Hazel, that she will continue to grow bigger, stronger and for complete healing. She is all of our little heart warrior!

Wayne M. - Health Update

Hi, all! I hope no one gets tired of this, but I know there are some people that wanted an update on my health.

On Monday I went to the radiologist to begin the process of preparing for radiation. While he was checking me over and asking questions, he made a suggestion that we hold off on radiation. He said that the remaining tumor isn't causing problems and hasn't grown since my surgery in August. If anything it has gotten a little smaller.He suggested we do another MRI In 6 months and if it still hasn't grown, wait another year. The side effects just outweigh the benefits of radiation. 

This Is good news. Radiation was likely going to effect my vision, memory, weight gain, loss of smell...All of these were possibilities because of where the treatment would take place in my head. I love all of you for your moral support and prayer! I have never felt so loved and supported! That really makes a physical and mental difference!

I am asking for prayers. I can't go into detail, but my heart is broken for a family I care a lot about. They are in California so I can't be with them.

Pray they continue to feel the love of Jesus as they have to make hard decisions.

I cry out to God and I know he hears us all, but it still hurts.

Flew out to Phoenix late yesterday. Please take a moment and pray for my mom. This year has been devistating to say the least, she has certainly risen above quite a large number of hurdles but still has many more areas to get in order. I’ll be in Phoenix this week to help her start some of these processes and just to get an idea about how much she can do on her own still. Thanks again for your continued prayer support.

Team Cascade!

Majors DeWayne and Toni H. would like to thank their many faithful friends for prayer support and covering the two of them in both in prayer and sending wonderful, encouraging messages. They are at home now, continue to improve and grateful for God’s provision of healing. God’s word says in Psalm 107:19-20 that when we call out to the Eternal one, He will give the order, heal and rescue us from certain death. We thank the Lord today for healing in the H.. family.

While we have been preoccupied in this country with political battles, the coronavirus, and more, radical Islam is still at work in places around the world. Nabil Habashi Salama, a Coptic Christian and church leader in Egypt, was kidnapped more than 3 months ago by a militant Islamic group associated with ISIS. This man was held hostage, beaten, tortured, and humiliated to try to get him to renounce his faith in Christ. His son Peter said that his captors had even broken all of his teeth but he would not abandon his faith. I hope that I would be that strong. A few days ago they released a video showing that they had executed Nabil—they shot him in the head and filmed it to cause further pain and intimidation. Pray for Nabil’s family who are grieving the loss of a husband, father, and grandfather. They have had to leave their home because of threats they were receiving as well. God bless and comfort them.

Please pray as Jim has had some chest pains was admitted to hospital for some test and observation overnight!  His cardiologist two weeks ago said all labs and test were great!!! He is doing fine and we are believing for a good report!!!!  Thanks for standing with us in prayer!!!!!

Toni H. - Husband's Update

Update on DeWayne- he still needs high power oxygen and still seems to be dealing with effects of dehydration  but has been resting well.  He will probably be there at least a couple more days by the nurse I talked to’s estimation.  They can’t send him home until his oxygen needs go down and they get him rehydrated fully and get his kidneys functioning normally again.  They believe they will once he is more hydrated so I am grateful at that news .

Please forgive the Facebook updates but there is no way I could possibly respond to each person individually.  I remain touched at the love and concern by everyone and I know DeWayne will be too.  

Please continue to pray- I believe the prayers are working!  God is faithful! He is our healer!

"My poor wife :(    She went and took a bath and when she got out of the bathtub she collapsed.  I went in to help her up and she passed out.  Scared me half to death.  I got her into bed and she is crying that she wants to die.  I said, No you don't!  I need you to stick around for me.  She is so weak.  People, Covid is real and it is not something you want to experience.  Please pray for the Lord to heal her now.  Thank you."

Lisa B. - Connecting with birth Father

10 years ago I was on a weekend trip to Las Vegas and tried to introduce myself to my birth father.

He worked as head of security for a casino. I went to that casino and asked for him. He was there, but wouldn’t come down to meet me.

He still lives in Las Vegas.

I live in Las Vegas.

I am not really sure what to do with this, but whatever direction I go (even if it is choosing not to move forward with knowing him) I want it all to be on purpose and with God’s guidance not based on fear or uncertainty.

Would you pray with me in this?

Well the first test came back negative for signs of a heart attack. They will do another test at 4:00 a.m. and if it comes back negative then she can go home. 🙏. Now she is trying to rest.
