Good Friday & Easter Services

Please pray for all the churches that will be honoring our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for His sacrifice for mankind! Pray for the people who don't know the Lord in a personal way this week as they attend worship services. Our church here in Hilo will be having our Good Friday service at 5p.m. followed by bread and broth. On Easter Sunday, we will be having our service at 7a.m. followed by breakfast and egg hunt. The Men's Bible Study Fellowship will be cooking at 6a.m. on Sunday. May this time be blessing for all who come! Praise the Lord for His abundant LOVE!

Brother Willie

Praise God for brother Willie in our Men's Bible Study fellowship. He recently had some heart complication, where he had to spend some time in the hospital. He is doing much better now. It was great to see him last night at our study. May God continue to strengthen and comfort him during this time!

Our Youth Group attended the Christafari free concert in Honokaa. There were 18 of us. What a time that we had traveling from Hilo to Honokaa. May the young people that went be strengthened in their faith. May they realize the importance of walking the talk. Christafari did a splendid job in singing and praising our Lord!

Kona and Honokaa Corps

Please continue to pray for the Kona Corps. Pray for Gary and Ann Todds for taking the helm in covering for the the Pensabenes, and at the same time, continues to work hard in Honokaa. Pray for God's strength and grace to be upon them each day! Continue to pray for the Pensabenes, as they are currently in Oklamoma while Matthew continues his cancer treatment. Pray for healing and God's awesome peace! Ann Todd writes, "Gary has been covering for the Lieutenants in Kona and traveling to Kona several times each week. We stay, on occasion, at the officer's quarters, but usually make the hour commute when needed. All is going as well as can be expected and the staff there has been wonderful in carrying on with the Thrift Store, the Day Care Center and the office. Honokaa continues to "plug away" with our small rummage sale, food pantry and the few services we offer. Please keep us all in prayer as we do the same for you. Give our love to the congregation and know that we think of you often."

Kelley Family Moving

Please pray for the Kelley family, as they are currently on the road going from Colorado to New York. They are a military family who we first met in Spokane. They were part of our church family and will always be great friends. They moved to Fountain Colorado right after we left there to go to Denver. Julie Kelley worked for the Fountain Corps as a volunteer and as a temporary worker. Her husband, eric, serves in the Air Force. Pray for their four children as they get back to school and make new friends. May our Lord go before this family and prepare their way to their next home and ministry!

HIM Conference

The Hawaiian Islands Ministries (HIM)conference was a blast! It's a "mountain-top" experience! Some of the speakers were: Jim Burns, Francis Chan, Gary Chapman, Doug Fields, Victor Marx. May those who came to the mountain top, go back down to the valleys with a renewed spirit to share the Good News of Jesus Christ! I was very encouraged! My wife, CSM Dio Parong, and I attended this and we look forward to going back next year! May God continue to bless the HIM conference folks as they prepare for the next one.

Hilo - God's Doing

Our numbers for 9 saved (3 Hilo, 6 youth councils rededication) 478 served through our programs this week (lunch, pantry) 38 in Sunday attendance, actually it should be 45 since we were at camp. I'll change it if I can. This was a great week for Hilo Temple Corps. We were able to serve people through our lunch program and pantry/clothes vouchers - but unlike every week, a couple that we only see through these services attended church on Sunday. The man accepted Christ, along with two others in the congregation. At Youth Councils, the six delegates we brought had a meaningful, moving experience the whole weekend long and at Sunday service. They prayed at the altar as a corps. We are enjoying watching what God is doing in their lives. In His Hands, Shoshannah

Post Youth Councils

Praise the Lord for Capt. Shoshannah in bringing six teens (Posei, Luna, River, Tommy, Kennan, Tori) to Youth Councils at Camp Homelani in Oahu. May the Lord continue to bless and draw each of them unto Himself. May He continue to prepare their paths in this life to serve the Lord. May they remember and apply key principles that they have learned! God bless our Youth!
