Officers' Move

Please pray for the many Salvation Army Officers who will be moving to their new appointments. Pray that everything will fall in place and settled as they prepare for this move. May the Lord guide their every step as they prepare mentally, emotionally and spiritually to this new chapter in their lives. May the Lord lead the way!

Shoshannah and I will also be leaving Spokane on July 13th for Fountain Valley Corps in Colorado.

Oklahoma"s Twister

May 10th--Saturday's tornado was responsible for seven deaths in Picher. The severe weather killed another 20 people in the Plains and the Southeast.

China Earthquake

The world watched in horror Monday as a jolting 7.9 magnitude earthquake – the latest in a series of global natural disasters – wreaked havoc across China’s southwestern Sichuan province.

The earthquake, the worst natural disaster to strike the Middle Kingdom in over three decades, left an estimated 12,000 dead, with thousands more reportedly injured and desperately trapped under the debris of fallen buildings. Xinhua News Agency reported that 18,645 people were still buried in and around Mianyang, a city about 60 miles east of the epicenter.

Myanmar

Please pray for the nation of Myanmar, formerly known as Burma. A typhoon went through and killed 20,500 people. More are still missing. The Salvation Army is currently helping with the recovery effort. May the Lord comfort those that have lost their love ones. May those that don't know the Lord come to Him in the midst of this tragedy.
