Amelia M. - Health Journey and Healing

It’s time for a story of healing and restoration. I contemplated sharing this but I keep feeling this gentle nudge to share . FYI, it’s a long post but the end is the best part:)

About four years ago I was diagnosed with endometriosis after having exploratory surgery. At my two week post op appointment the doctor told us that I had a very severe case and that they couldn’t get it all. The doctor let us know that she had to leave about 50% of the endometriosis there because she was worried about damaging other organs. The possible treatments offered would be harsh on my body and prevent us from growing our family. That was not the news we were expecting or prepared to hear.

Over the past 4 years ,my endometriosis spread rapidly and aggressively. It felt as if the pain was increasing by the day causing me to be light headed , dizzy and exhausted by it all. All while dealing with infertility. After multiple doctors that could not help , my sister Melissa referred me to a specialist in Seattle. And this is when things really started to change for the better.

This new doctor knew what the right tests to order and we were finally getting answers. This time , although the results from my ultra sounds and MRI showed an extensive amount of endometriosis and other conditions, I felt peace that things would get better.

After deep consultation and prayer we opted for the most invasive option given to us with the best outcomes for me : endometriosis excision surgery and a hysterectomy.

This would end all the biopsies/tests and really increase my way of life and health overall. This was not met without deep sorrow and heartache. But God met us in our heartbreak and carried me through it and continues to do so.

Now, I’m two weeks post op and I’m healing each day. The post op report showed endometriosis in 11 parts of my body including two arteries , multiple organs and was sticking everything together.

BUT here is the GOOD NEWS : They got it all! Where there could have been ruptured arteries and internal bleeding , there was none. Where there could have been serious kidney damage there was none. Where other organs could have been damaged and in need of repair, there was none! AND they got it all. Left none behind.

That is my testimony of healing and Gods protection over me.

The days that I thought my body was failing me, God was protecting it.

The Lord sent amazing family and friends and that have loved us so well and taken care of us.
My heart is overflowing because of you all.

And a shoutout to my husband Michael Mott for your constant love and telling me each day how brave I am. And to my parents for flying out to care for me, while I recover.

So tonight I’m allowing the Lord to lead me to quiet waters to continue to restore and heal my body and soul.

Chinese Believers

Authorities in China have arrested six Christians in Guizhou Province after accusing them of “organizing minors to disrupt public order” for activities including Sunday school, sharing the Gospel with children, and allowing families to worship together.

According to reports, the case is drawing attention because the charge has traditionally been used for crimes involving violence or public disorder, not peaceful religious gatherings involving families and children.

Religious freedom watchdogs warn the arrests reflect a growing crackdown on Christianity in China, where authorities are increasingly using legal tools to target churches, pastors, and religious education involving minors.

The report also states that Chinese Catholic leaders were recently instructed to place Communist Party ideology and “socialist core values” above traditional church teaching as part of the government’s ongoing “Sinicization” campaign.

SG News - Michael Oyedokun PTG

In another brutal attack targeting Christians in Nigeria, jihadists beheaded Mr. Michael Oyedokun, a devoted Christian teacher at Community High School. The heinous act marks yet another episode in the ongoing wave of religiously motivated violence plaguing Nigerian communities. Oyedokun, known for his dedication to his students and faith, was killed in cold blood. His death has drawn fresh calls for government action to protect Christian minorities facing relentless jihadist persecution across the country.

Larry C. - TSA Yuba Sutter Theft

Friends, we are saddened to share that sometime during the night of 05/17/26, thieves cut through our property fence and stole the catalytic converters from both The Salvation Army Yuba Sutter box truck and our 25-passenger bus.

These are not just vehicles to us — they are tools for ministry.

Our box truck is essential for transporting large quantities of food for our food pantry and Fresh Fridays outreach, helping us serve families throughout the Yuba-Sutter community. Our bus helps transport youth to music programs, Teen Night, summer camp, and other activities that provide encouragement, mentorship, and hope.

The operational loss of these two vehicles significantly impacts our ability to serve our community.

While this situation is deeply discouraging, our commitment to ministry remains unchanged. We are currently working through insurance and assessing next steps.

We would greatly appreciate your prayers for our ministry, staff, and the families and youth impacted by this loss. If anyone witnessed suspicious activity or has information related to this incident, please contact the Marysville Police Department.

Thank you for continuing to stand with The Salvation Army Yuba Sutter as we serve others with compassion, dignity, and hope.

India Pastors PTG

Please pray for their families.

May 14, 2026—an attack leaves 3 pastors dead and several others seriously injured. Rev. Vumthang Sitlhou had been striving for peace between the tribal groups in the state. His late father was instrumental in bringing the gospel to the tribal group and laboured to translate hymns and the Bible into the local dialect.

Manipur, North-east India, has faced persecution for a number of years. In 2023, around 200-400 churches were burnt, 7000 homes completely destroyed, leavings tens of thousands displaced. Please pray for the Christians in Manipur🙏.

Heather M. - Dad PTG and Moving

Grief seems to hit differently in the morning.

It’s in that moment when you wake up and reality settles in again, that someone you love is no longer here, and you won’t see them again this side of heaven.

On Friday, my dad, Ron, passed away. He lived in Southern California, and although our relationship wasn’t especially close, losing a parent is still deeply hard. There’s something about that loss that settles into your heart in a way that’s hard to explain.

At the same time, we are under Farewell Orders and preparing to move at the end of June. As officers, this is a familiar kind of grief, leaving behind close friends, a congregation we love, a home, a community we’ve poured our hearts into, and for our kids, their schools and friendships. It’s never easy. It’s never light.

And right now… it just feels like a lot.

God must know that I am stronger than I feel in this moment, because His Word promises He won’t give us more than we can bear. I know His truth is deep in my heart. I know He is with me. I know He is near to the brokenhearted.

But even knowing all of that… this is still really hard.

If you think of our family, we would appreciate your prayers in this season. đź’›

Pray for Iran

Iranian Christians are sharing the gospel… in the middle of war.

As conflict intensifies, ministry leaders report that believers inside Iran are using this moment to reach people who are suddenly asking deeper questions about life, death, and God.

According to the report, fear and uncertainty have made many more open to spiritual conversations—especially as families face loss, instability, and the reality of how quickly life can change.
But this isn’t happening in a safe environment.

In Iran, converting to Christianity—especially from Islam—can lead to arrest, interrogation, and imprisonment. House churches are often monitored, and believers regularly face pressure from authorities.

And still, they’re sharing.
Some are caring for neighbors affected by the conflict. Others are quietly having conversations about Jesus with people who are searching for hope in the middle of chaos.

Leaders say this isn’t new—but moments like this accelerate it.
Crisis has a way of stripping everything else away.

And when it does, people start asking the questions that really matter.
Who is God?
What happens after this?
Is there any hope?
For many in Iran right now, those questions are leading them to the gospel.
Not because it’s safe…
but because they believe it’s true.

Uganda Evangelist Kitenga PTG

A church in Uganda is grieving after the tragic death of evangelist Alfred Kitenga, who was killed shortly after sharing the Gospel at an evening outreach event in central Uganda.

According to reports, Kitenga and his wife, Anna Grace Nabirye, had just finished ministering in the Namungoona area of Kampala as part of an evangelistic team.

As the evening ended, four men approached the couple claiming to be motorcycle taxi drivers and fellow Christians who had attended the service. Offering free transportation home, they appeared trustworthy.

The couple accepted.

But during the ride, things took a troubling turn.

The drivers reportedly suggested taking an alternate route due to traffic and the late hour. Soon after, Nabirye became uneasy when one of the men repeatedly spoke on the phone in a language she did not understand.

Then violence erupted.

According to Nabirye’s account, several more men appeared, and the attackers turned on the couple. Kitenga was brutally beaten and fatally stabbed.

His wife was abducted, later abandoned near her home, and survived the ordeal.

Church leaders later found Kitenga’s body by the roadside.

Authorities have launched an investigation, though no official motive has yet been confirmed and no arrests have been announced.

While some reports suggest possible extremist involvement, this has not been formally established by investigators.

For many believers, the loss is deeply sobering.

Kitenga was described by local church leaders as a devoted evangelist with a heart for sharing Christ, particularly among communities where Christian outreach can carry heightened risks.

His death has reignited concern over the safety of evangelists and ministry workers, especially those conducting late-night outreach in vulnerable areas.

Uganda’s constitution formally protects religious freedom, including the right to share one’s faith. Yet incidents of violence and hostility against Christians have periodically raised concerns among advocacy groups and local ministries.

Stories like this remind the global Church of a reality often forgotten in more comfortable settings:
For some believers, proclaiming faith is not merely inconvenient.

It can be dangerous.

And yet throughout history, countless Christians have continued serving, loving, and preaching despite personal risk.

Not because suffering is glorified.

But because they believed the Gospel was worth their lives.

Today, a wife grieves.

A church mourns.

A ministry team feels the weight of loss.

And a wider Christian community is once again reminded to pray for those serving in difficult places around the world.

Not every act of faith is public.

Not every sacrifice makes headlines.

But Heaven sees them all.

ABUJA, Nigeria — Fulani terrorists killed 12 Christians in attacks on two worship services on Easter Sunday in Kaduna state, Nigeria, following the killing of 17 Christians in Benue state, sources said.

The assailants raided predominantly Christian Ariko town, in Kachia County, in northern Nigeria’s Kaduna state, and fired on Christians worshiping at an Evangelical Church Winning All site and at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Dozens of others were kidnapped, and both church buildings were damaged, area residents said.

More Christians were killed in Nigeria than in any other country from Oct. 1, 2024, through Sept. 30, 2025, according to Open Doors’ 2026 World Watch List. Of the 4,849 Christians killed worldwide for their faith during that period, 3,490 (72%) were Nigerians, an increase from 3,100 the prior year. Nigeria ranked No. 7 on the WWL list of the 50 countries where it's most difficult to be a Christian.

Nigerian Believers - 30 Lives on Palm Sunday

While Christians around the world gathered to wave palm branches and sing Hosanna, our brothers and sisters in Plateau State, Nigeria, faced a literal walk through the valley of the shadow of death. On Sunday evening, as families prepared for Holy Week, gunmen stormed the Angwan Rukuba community, opening fire on unsuspecting residents.

Reports confirm that at least 30 lives were lost in this unprovoked violence. Among the fallen were young believers, aged 21 to 31, whose futures were cut short on the very day we celebrate Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem.

'Our people are living in fear,' shared a local contact, describing the scene where homes were burned and families displaced. Despite the darkness of this hour, faith remains the only anchor. Humanitarian workers remind us that even in tragedy, we find hope in Christ, who is 'a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.'

As we approach Good Friday and Easter, we do not mourn as those without hope. We stand in solidarity, calling for peace and justice for the vulnerable. Let us lift our voices for Nigeria, praying that the light of the Resurrection will pierce through this overwhelming grief.

Kabul Airport Attack - 13 Americans Dead

These are the US service members killed in the Kabul airport attack

The identities of the 13 US service members who were killed by an ISIS-K suicide bomber outside the Kabul airport while helping to oversee the evacuation of thousands of Americans and Afghan allies have been confirmed by authorities.

The US Marines on Saturday released the names of the dead, including 11 Marines, one Navy corpsman and one Army soldier.

We continue to mourn the loss of these Marines and pray for their families. Our focus now is taking care of the families of those who were killed and caring for our injured,” Maj. Jim Stenger, a Marine Corps spokesperson, told The Post in an email.

Here’s what we know about the US service members who were killed.

Maxton Soviak, 22, Navy

Soviak, a Navy hospital corpsman, hailed from Berlin Heights, Ohio, and graduated from Edison High School in Milan in 2017, the Sandusky Register reported.

A woman who identified herself as Soviak’s older sister and goes by Marilyn Soviak on Instagram, penned a heartbreaking post Friday that confirmed her brother’s death.

“I’ve never been one for politics and i’m not going to start now. What I will say is that my beautiful, intelligent, beat-to-the-sound of his own drum, annoying, charming baby brother was killed yesterday helping to save lives,” the sister wrote.

“[H]e was a f–king medic. there to help people. and now he is gone and my family will never be the same. there is a large Maxton sized hole that will never be filled,” she wrote alongside a slideshow of images showing the two as children.

“[H]e was just a kid. [W]e are sending kids over there to die. kids with families that now have holes just like ours.”

Frank D. - Judy H. PTG

A LIFE WELL-LIVED—Commissioner Judy Hedgren is Promoted to Glory. She lived her life for the Glory of God !!

Commissioner Judy Hedgren was Promoted to Glory on March 26, 2026, at the age of 77.

Judith Ann White was born on February 14, 1949, in Richmond, VA to Majors Lairon and Edith White. She lived her life with deep faith, contagious joy, and boundless love. Her life was truly an adventure with God, marked by laughter, compassion, and a heart that reflected the love of Christ to everyone she met.

On April 12, 1975, she married the love of her life, Steve Hedgren. Together, they felt the call to Salvation Army officership and applied to enter the Training College in Chicago in 1976 as members of the Disciples of Jesus session of cadets. They were commissioned as cadet/lieutenants to Rockford Citadel, IL. Ordained and commissioned in June 1978, they later served as corps officers in Champaign, IL, and Port Huron, MI, and as divisional youth leaders for the Midland Divisional Headquarters.

In 1991, they transferred to the Southern Territory, with corps appointments, area command roles, and divisional leadership in Tampa, FL; Miami, FL; Atlanta Temple, GA; and eventually to the Arkansas-Oklahoma Division.

The Hedgrens then transferred to the Eastern Territory, accomplishing a seldom-achieved status of serving in three USA territories, eventually becoming territorial leaders. Throughout their ministry, they influenced thousands through preaching, teaching, youth work, and international Salvation Army events.

Commissioners Steve and Judy Hedgren retired from active service on April 1, 2016, after over 37 years of ministry.

Commissioner Judy Hedgren is preceded in death by her parents, and by her devoted husband of 46 years, Commissioner Steve Hedgren.

She is survived by her children, Heather (Jay) Needham, and Captain Matt (Jessica) Hedgren; and her six grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for April 9, 2026, at the Tampa Corps.

CFOT Brigades Summer Assignments

Today our cadets from the College For Officer Training are traveling to various ministry locations for 10 days of service and mission. This is always a meaningful time where the rubber meets the road - classroom learning meets real-life ministry.

This year our cadets will be serving in several locations across the Western Territory:
Hawaii: 3 brigades will be serving on different islands, partnering with local Salvation Army ministries and communities.
Portland, Oregon: One brigade will be serving in the greater Portland area.
Seattle, Washington: Another brigade will be ministering throughout the Seattle area.
Redondo Beach: The last group will be serving in the Redondo Beach area.

During these ten days they will be involved in a variety of ministries, community outreach, worship, service projects, and sharing the love of Christ with people in each community.
Please pray for:
·        Safe travel and good health
·        Open hearts in the communities they serve
·        Unity and spiritual growth within each team
·        Opportunities to share the Gospel of Christ
These moments of ministry are formative experiences for our future Salvation Army officers. We are grateful for the corps, officers, Divisional leaders, and communities who will host them.
Thank you for covering our cadets in prayer over these next 10 days. Blessings. Spring Campaigns 2026 College for Officer Training at Crestmont

Julie S. - Daughter's Health and Healing

After 6 hours in the ER , Katie is now being admitted. She has an abscess on her face and cellulitis. So she too needs IV antibiotics but there is no in home hospital care for pediatrics. This is going to be a few days in the hospital.

Julie S. - Son Andrew's Health

Spent 7 hours in the ER today with Drew until Duncan took over at 11:00 and is with him now.

Drew has a UTI that is resistant to most oral antibiotics with the best oral being one he is allergic to. We fought for “in home hospital care” so that he wasn’t admitted. Duncan will bring him home tonight. We will have phlebotomist and nurses coming in daily to check his white blood count and to administer the antibiotics. You are considered septic when your white blood count is at 12 - Andrews was at 11.6 - the Dr said “essentially septic” I am so glad we took him in!

Please pray that these antibiotics work and that everything goes smoothly. I am still on my FB fast, so I won’t be back on, but wanted to ask for prayers!

Pray for our Troops

Fr Terrence Williams

Prayer for Our Troops at War in Iran

Heavenly Father,

We come to You today lifting up our American troops who are at war in Iran. They are in dangerous situations, facing real threats, and carrying heavy responsibility.

Lord, protect them.
Place Your hand over them in every operation, every movement, and every moment of uncertainty. Shield them from harm. Give them alert minds, steady hands, and sound judgment under pressure.

Strengthen them physically and mentally. When fear rises, give them courage. When exhaustion sets in, give them endurance. When they feel isolated, remind them they are not alone.

Be with their families back home. Calm their fears. Give them peace as they wait and pray. Surround them with support and comfort.

Guide the leaders making decisions that impact these lives. Grant wisdom, clarity, and restraint.

We ask for protection.
We ask for strength.
We ask for safe return.

Bring our troops home safely, Lord.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

War in Iran

Fr Joshua Kim

[Call to Prayer]
As war began between the U.S. & Iran this morning, our hearts are heavy. No matter the reason, war is a tragedy that devastates basic humanity.
May God the Father, who holds all of history in His hands, protect every life & church in that area. Stay alert in prayer together, so that we may serve as channels for the Gospel in these dark times. A storm is the very time we must drop our anchors deeper into the Lord.

"He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth.
He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the shields with fire."
(Psalm 46:9)

Jaylyn's Healing/Family's Home Renovation

As many of you know, our daughter Jaylyn was involved in a devastating car accident on Monday, August 4th 2025, as she was driving to work. We have since learned that she likely suffered a medical emergency before crashing her car. From what we’ve been told, when California Highway Patrol (CHP) arrived on scene, life-saving measures were not initiated until Oakland Fire Department arrived and worked to revive her.

Because of these heartbreaking circumstances, Jaylyn suffered an anoxic brain injury. She currently remains in a vegetative state as her brain continues to heal. Every day is uncertain, but we continue to hold on to faith, hope, and the power of prayer as we stand beside her.

Now, we are preparing for the next big step — bringing Jaylyn home.

While this is something we have prayed for, it also comes with significant challenges. Our home must be renovated to safely accommodate her medical needs, equipment, and full-time care. We are doing everything we can to prepare a safe, loving space where she can continue her recovery surrounded by family support.

We are asking for help through our GoFundMe to assist with necessary home renovations and adjustments to our home to make it accessible.

If you feel led to give or share our fundraiser, we are beyond grateful. Most of all, please continue praying for healing, restoration, and strength for our girl.

Thank you for standing with our family during this unimaginable season. ❤️

Pray for Mexico

A major Mexican resort town was under siege on Sunday as drug cartels lashed out after the leader of the brutal Jalisco New Generation Cartel was killed in a military raid, authorities said.

Tourists in Puerto Vallarta were warned to stay indoors as narco gangs went on a rampage following the death of drug kingpin Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera Cervantes, the powerful boss of the violent crime outfit.

The US State Department urged Americans to shelter in place, and some American tourists have reported being trapped in the region.

Tragedy near Tahoe

Close

6 mothers who 'cherished time together' among victims in avalanche near Lake Tahoe

By Bonny Chu, Michael Sinkewicz

Published February 20, 2026

At least six victims have been identified in the tragic avalanche incident on Tuesday that killed up to nine people in Sierra Nevada, near Lake Tahoe, California.

Six of the victims were among a group of outdoor-loving mothers who regularly traveled together. A joint statement from the affected families identified the women as Kate Vitt, Carrie Atkin, Danielle Keatley, Kate Morse, and sisters Caroline Sekar and Liz Clabaugh.

"We are devastated beyond words," the families said in the statement. "Our focus right now is supporting our children through this incredible tragedy and honoring the lives of these extraordinary women."

All the women were described as "mothers, wives, and friends, all of whom connected through the love of the outdoors."

Nevada County Sheriff Shannan Moon said during a news conference Wednesday that authorities had told the families the mission had shifted from rescue to recovery.

"They were on their way back to camp when the avalanche actually hit," Moon said, adding that it took search and rescue crews hours to find the first few survivors.

The group of women, most of whom resided near California, were reportedly seasoned backcountry skiers. They were reportedly well-trained, fully prepared, and equipped with avalanche safety gear.

"They were passionate, skilled skiers who cherished time together in the mountains," the families' statement said. "They lived in the Bay Area, Idaho, and the Truckee–Tahoe region."

They expressed being "heartbroken" and said they are doing their best to support one another and their families in the way they believe the mothers would have wanted.

McAlister Clabaugh, the brother of Sekar and Clabaugh, told The New York Times that Sekar, 45, was a mother of two who lived in San Francisco.

Liz Clabaugh, 52, served as a graduate nurse residency program coordinator at St. Luke’s Health System in Boise, Idaho, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Vitt, a San Francisco resident, held positions at SiriusXM and Pandora, according to her LinkedIn profile, and was a mother to two children.

Several members of the group were also connected to Sugar Bowl Academy, an elite boarding and day school for competitive skiers and snowboarders that has counted multiple Olympians among its alumni.

"This tragedy has affected each and every one of us. The depth of support for the families whose lives have been changed forever reminds us of how special this community is," Executive Director Stephen McMahon said.

The Feb. 17 avalanche near Castle Peak in the Sierra Nevada mountains became the deadliest in California’s history.

Authorities reported that the tragedy involved a group of 15 backcountry skiers, including 11 clients and 4 guides, on a multi-day guided expedition organized by Blackbird Mountain Guides.

Eight people were confirmed dead, with one additional person presumed dead.

"We are profoundly grateful for the extensive rescue efforts by Nevada County Search and Rescue, Tahoe Nordic Search and Rescue and all of the authorities involved, and for the outpouring of support from the Tahoe community and beyond," the families said in the statement.

"We are heartbroken and are doing our best to care for one another and our families in the way we know these women would have wanted," they added.

To continue recovery efforts for the final missing individual, authorities announced Thursday that all National Forest lands and trails around Castle Peak will be closed for roughly one month, from Feb. 20 through March 15.

Authorities emphasized that emergency personnel may need to use snow machines, aircraft and even explosives during the operations.

"Due to the current instability of the snowpack and need to prioritize first responder access to the area, members of the public are prohibited from entering the closure area during search and rescue operations," the U.S. Forest Service-Tahoe National Forest said.

"It is our top priority to ensure the safety of first responders during this recovery mission and aid in the return of each victim to their families," Tahoe National Forest Supervisor Chris Feutrier added in a statement. "Our deepest condolences to the families that have lost their loved ones from this tragic incident. Our sincere appreciation to all first responders, law enforcement and partners that are supporting this recovery."

The avalanche marks the deadliest in the U.S. since 1981, when 11 climbers were killed on Mount Rainier in Washington state. It is also the second deadly slide near Castle Peak this year after a person on a snowmobile was buried in January.

Pastor Jay's Health and Healing

Jay Strother, senior pastor of Brentwood Baptist Church in Tennessee, announced he will step away from ministry for an extended period after being diagnosed with stomach cancer.

The 50-year-old father of five said doctors discovered a malignant mass in his abdomen in December and warned that treatment will likely involve major surgery and a lengthy recovery. While the full treatment plan is still being finalized, Strother said the road ahead “will not be easy.”

Quoting Matthew 6:33-34, he told his congregation he is taking the journey “a day at a time” and invited the church to pray for him and his family. He emphasized that the church is not built around one leader and urged members to stay focused on its mission, encouraging them to remain active in small groups and service during his absence.

Pray for Nigerian Believers - 162 deaths

Islamic jihadists killed 162 people during attacks on two villages in western Nigeria, a lawmaker said Wednesday, in one of the deadliest assaults in recent months.

Separately on Tuesday, unknown gunmen killed at least 13 people in the village of Doma, in the northwestern state of Katsina, police spokesman Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu said. No one has claimed responsibility for that attack.

Islamic extremists from Boko Haram struck in northeastern Nigeria last week, killing at least 36 people during separate attacks on a construction site and on an army base.

Joanna W. - Mom and Dad's Health Update

Latest (2/2/26) Update on our mom from my sister Ruth:
 Long post- sorry!

From Dad:
Dr B (the surgeon who replaced her valve) is going to do another heart cath to see if maybe they did not leave the two arteries they were concerned with open enough and perhaps that's what's causing her low blood pressure. If it is, they will put a stent in there. The problem is the heart catheter that they need to do that is not in stock, so it has been ordered and could be here tomorrow. ... or not! Once it arrives, it will not be difficult to find an OR open slot ( as it will be a much shorter procedure), and of course then we have recovery for we don't know how long (assuming this fixes the problem).  It came back that she does have a UTI so they’re putting her on antibiotics for that. So  ... still a lot of unanswered questions, but hopefully will be soon! Love you all ...thanks for praying!

From Ruth: 2/2/26
Driving home from Atlanta and the hospital the other day, I was overcome by gratefulness. God has been so good and kind to us in the midst of this, even though it has been really hard. I am especially challenged and overwhelmed by how Mom and Dad continue to walk through this difficult and exhausting time with such joy, kindness, and care for each other, and really anyone they come in contact with, and everyone they know and love, and this is how they have lived their lives!

I’ve seen Mom, hardly able to talk, ask a nurse ( more than once) “How is your day going?” They reach out to the nurses and techs and drs to hear their stories, and talk to them about Jesus and what He means to them. Daddy is with her, caring for her, telling jokes, praying with her and for her, “sleeping “ ( but not getting much sleep ) in an uncomfortable chair in ICU for days and days, (and she’s been in the hospital now over 3 weeks) but he doesn’t complain, instead he’s grateful. I am so challenged by their lives and examples of joy and trust in the Lord and care for others in the midst of their suffering, uncertainty, waiting, and waiting, is an incredible witness to me of what God can do. Of what He has done in their lives. I want to be like that. Lord! Help me be like that because it reflects who You are- and it shines Your light in the darkness!

And my sister Rebecca Nichols, is a hero too. She’s been with them so much of this time, she stayed with our mom overnight last week so Dad can get some rest in a real bed and she’s doing it again tonight. She has an incredible gift of serving them that both blesses and inspires me!
I’m also grateful for all the ways people have come alongside us in this, so many people have been praying , and checking on us, some who sent money to help us with extra expenses, some brought food to my parents or visited them in the hospital, or Jinny taking care of my mom’s sister in Johnson City with such kindness and compassion! I’m grateful to the Lord for the drs and nurses and their skills and that she was able to have this procedure.

I ’m so grateful for my sister Joanna Wang and brother Jonathan Vaughan who would be here if it was at all possible, and are praying and loving and supporting us in Texas and California and this is harder for them in some ways not being able to be here. I’m grateful for Alan and how he has and is caring for me in so many ways as we walk through this.  I am so grateful for my family, for their love for the Lord, support and care for one another and I don’t take that for granted!!
Thank you also to Calvin Wesley Ballard for your sweet hugs when I need them most. And my cousin Amy Norman King for you and Jacob King’s hospitality to me!! It was so good to see you guys

Karina R. - Brother's Surgery

Update:

Thanks for the prayers and praise the lord !
just called the hospital for an update and everything went well he has been moved to a recovery room just now! (Surgery started at 8 this morning)
‐------------‐---------------------

Good morning church family! Asking for prayers for my brother Christian as he's going to have an urgent bypass surgery sometime today 🙏 may the lord almighty be controlling everything today! Thanks and have a blessed day!!

Bianca's Pregnancy

Sounds like baby will be here sooner than expected! I will be induced at 38 weeks (due to having a high risk pregnancy) I am currently 30 weeks as of yesterday! Emotions are high for sure! But we are excited for baby Pereyra to be here!

When I first found out I was pregnant, my due date was April 7, 2026. If anyone knows me and my family, April 7th is a tough and emotional day. We lost my mom April 7th, 2023. When I was told of my due date I couldn’t believe it. Although April 7 is a reminder of what we lost, there was a comfort knowing that my mom wanted us not to be sad on that day. She is reminding us that she is still with us and continuing to bless us.
My sister who had her baby last year, also had a due date of April 7th… I see what you did mom.

Although I’m having baby before my anticipated due date, I know my mom had a part in this pregnancy and she is always going to be with me even tho she’s not here on earth.

Joanna W. - Mom's Health

This is the newest update from my sister Rebecca on my mom. I got to talk to her briefly, which was so good for my heart.

Mom is doing well tonight. They're keeping her in ICU another night as her blood pressure has been unstable today, too low, so they want to monitor her closely. Thankful to God for all of His answers to yours and our prayers on her behalf. He is good, kind, faithful, loving, merciful, an every present help in times of trouble, our solid rock, I could go all night!
Pray for a good night sleep. She will just doze off and her BP will get too low and the machine starts beeping and wake her up,  then it will pop back up again so it'll go off. She wakes up saying, "Come in," thinking someone is knocking. 🙂 I am thankful that they're watching her closely.
