Preparers of the Way

Mike J. is the strong silent type and while some of us know, others don’t that he is still struggling with the same leg infection he had in training. In fact, the infection is now classified as a “staph” infection. All of us who know Michael understand how important his physicality is to him in sports and in other ways. Mike is a big strong teddy bear and needs what he is too tough and strong to ask for DAILY PRAYER. So, I am asking for the whole session to commit to 30 minutes of prayer a day for Michael and Rachel as she helps take care of him for the next month. All of us, for the rest of August. The reason is that if by the end of the next two weeks there is no progress he will be admitted for IV antibiotics and then who knows what.

Fr. Tommy F.

I don't know how many of you know, but Kory was diagnosed with Lupus a couple of years ago but it has been getting worse the last few months. She was told she has a chromosome in her DNA that triggers auto immune illnesses. Which means she will continue getting illnesses that are not curable. Please be praying for her health.

Fr. Luis A.

We are struggling financially...big time. Mark has a job interview this morning. We really need him to get a job soon. Please pray for a successful interview!

Fr. Monica K.

May the Lord be with Mike as He heals him (in accordance with His Will and Timing) from this problem with his leg. In this moment, may His peace which passes all understanding be upon him! May His Spirit of comfort fill Him to overflow. May God's strength be Mike's strength during this difficult time. May the Lord's enduring Power be upon Kory. As the Apostle Paul struggled with a thorn in his side and yet depended upon the Lord's sufficient Grace, may our Lord give Kory the same strength to press on. May the world see this strength manifested in Kory's life and give God the Glory! May the Lord intervene in Mark's job hunting and show Mark His faithful provision. If this is God's Will for Mark to get this particular job (and we pray that it is), then may this job be used in a powerful way to minister to fellow employees and customers. We commit everything unto our Lord's Throne--the One who always looks after His children. To God be the Glory!

IM Division Mission Trip

As you will know, the Intermountain Division has set as one of it's goals for the 2009 program year the conducting of a missions trip to our partner territory which is Southern Africa. A team of twelve officers, soldiers and employees of the division will be representing us in this exciting venture which is scheduled to take place from October 29 - November 13, 2009. The Intermountain team will be doing a variety of activities while in South Africa which will include some painting and remodeling of a Corps facility, providing training in homemaking skills, leading and participating in youth oriented activities and conducting worship services in several locations over their thirteen days in the West Cape Division of the Southern Africa Territory. In all, the Intermountain team will visit eleven Corps in their thirteen days in country.

The team will be led by Majors George and Jeanne Baker and the remaining team members are as follows:

Major Deborah G. -- Salt Lake City Citadel Corps
Captain Judy B. -- Centennial Corps
Captain Roberta M. -- Divisional Headquarters
Captain Dave S. -- Cheyenne Corps
Captain Mike H. -- Ft. Collins Corps
Captain Harold L. -- Pueblo Corps
Paul B. -- DHQ (Employee)
Leah M. -- DHQ (Employee)
Erin K. -- Centennial Corps (Soldier/Employee)
Michelle M. -- Centennial Corps (Soldier/Employee)

Fr. D.C.

May the Lord help and guide this team to finalize all the details (financially and interpersonally--with a common bond with purpose and vision). I think of the Apostle Paul's 3 Mission Trips! May the Lord go before this team and prepare the minds and hearts that will be ministered to. May the people see Jesus in this team's work and ministy and put their faith in Jesus! May this team be used mightily to further the Kingdom of God and give Him all the Honor and glory.
