Ruth H. - Health

I admit I just shed a few tears …this whole cancer journey has been hard ! And the fact that I am by myself makes it even harder.
But the  beauty I have seen through this is how God has had me in his hands through every scary appointment, surgery , and then just the not knowing and waiting .
He has shown me beauty and love and caring through all those friends and family who have sent flowers and cards, made meals made sure my family was doing ok…and some who have just sat with me and visited.
Our God is so Good even on days like these ❤️❤️❤️

Susana D. - Pete's Update and Grandma

Update on Pete: Pete is home and requires a lot of care. They sent him home with a week's worth of antibiotics and a nurse will come and check his incisions a few times this week. The rest is up to me. I pray that I have the strength and patience to help in. Thank you everyone for your prayers and love.

I also wanted to share and request prayers for my Grandma Aurora. She is 92 and she is in her last days on her path to be with the Lord. She says she is ready to be with God and her three children she has lost in her lifetime, including my mom. Her kidneys, hear and lungs are failing, but she is comfortable and not in pain. Please pray that she goes peacefully. Thank you 🙏🏼

Mike J. - Recovery from Head Injury and seizure

We didn’t post anything until now, but Thursday I suffered a seizure and fell and had a bad head injury that included bleeding on the brain.

The bleeding has healed, I’ve passed all my speech and cognitive tests and now I get to go home. The doctors say it’s a miracle how fast I’ve recovered. I say it’s God healing touch on my life.

Still got some physical therapy and neurological therapy in the future. But I’m alive and still in the fight. God is good!!

Susan D. - Husband's Health

Requesting prayers again. We had to have the paramedics pick Pete up and taking to the ER at Harbor UCLA because his infection is showing signs of possibly having sepsis.  I was at the hospital for 17 hrs sleeping off and on between helping him, in a hard chair. We have been waiting since 1 am for transport back to Litte company of Mary San Pedro. At Harbor they found that he has a couple of abscess in his body. Harbor is giving him antibiotics and we have been waiting for transport to little company of Mary San Pedro and they keep changing the time can transport him because they are short staffed and because of his size. You would think he weighs 400 lbs. it's a nightmare. Please pray they will pick him up sooner than 9:30 am tomorrow and get him comfortable and care for him properly. Thank you. 😭😢

Jewelry C. - Dad's Health

In the ER again with pops. :( Hoping it's just constipation and not eating much is what is making him feel weak and vomiting and not the stomach flu i had last week.

Susan D. - Pete’s update

Update on Pete. Today was a better day. Pete was approved to start a liquid diet. He was beyond grateful as he hasn't eaten anything since last Wednesday. Tomorrow the GI is going to try to remove the stent the same way he put it in. Please pray that no tissue has attached itself to the stent and that it can be pulled out safely.  There is very high risk in this procedure and he said that if he has to force it, he will leave it in. We are feeling optimistic even with the high risk. GI is the one that got Pete out of danger. This procedure will take place at 5 pm tomorrow. Thank you again for all your prayers and love.

Susan D. - Pete's update

Family. We will get through this. Pete still has a long hard difficult road ahead. The stent was not removed, it was too risky because of where he Carrie's his weight. He's feeling discouraged because he's been poked and prodded and not on his way to recovery yet. Please pray for us as I am very afraid. I know the Lord will get us through this no matter what. Thank you for your prayers and support. Love you family ❤️🙏🏼🤟🏼

Peter P. - Health

Would appreciate your prayers this evening. Just not feeling well at all. Thanks!

Susan D. - Pete's Update

Good morning everyone. Update on Pete. Today is the day, Surgery Day! Pete's surgery will take place at 11 am today. They are taking his vitals often as his blood pressure is a little high. He is anxious about the surgery. He's emotional about being in the hospital. Last night at 10:30 pm, Leslie went to the hospital and surprised him by sitting in the parking lot where he could see us through his window and talked on the phone with him. It's the first time since Friday that he and Leslie have seen each other, other than FaceTime. He was happy. We even took our kitten "Stitch" to cheer him up. This is the home stretch. Please pray. He requested Psalms 23. I read it to him on the phone a few minutes ago. Thank you everyone. I love you all for supporting my family and I through this. I will update you if anything changes. 🤟🏼

Susan D. - Pete's Update (Praise the Lord)

Update on Pete. God is so good. The Stent the doctor placed was successful. While it is a temporary fix, Pete is out of immediate danger and is going to get some relief. He still has to have major surgery to remove a part of his large intestine and remove the stent in the next two months. Thank you all for your prayers and love. As I walked away from the operating room and said goodbye to my husband, the hospital halls and waiting room were empty but I didn't feel alone. I felt all your love and prayers. You were all here with me. Thank you all so much. My Pete is still here with me. Thank you God for letting me, us have him for more time.

Susan D. - Pete's Health

Update on my Pete. He is in the ER bed. They are monitoring his blood pressure. They gave him an IV because he's very dehydrated. They say the pain could be apendicitis they did an X-ray and they are awaiting results. They are also wanting to do a CT scan. Please continue to pray. I love you friends. I love my Pete and just want him to be ok. Thank you for your love and prayers

Monica K. - Husband's Healing

Mark’s oncologist told him on Wednesday that if he was walking  in his office for the first time he would tell him his throat looked perfectly normal! His kidney levels were even better this week than last. His next appointment will be a CT scan to hopefully show the cancer is gone.

He had his feeding tube removed yesterday. Sooner than his radiologist would have liked but it wouldn’t stop leaking. Mark decided it was a quality of life decision and told them to take it out. He enjoyed a blissful night of sleep last night untethered to any tubes or machines.

His goal now is to get his belly healed up and ingest enough calories to maintain his weight so his body has enough strength to continue healing fully.

Continued prayers appreciated this week and leading up to his appointment on the 30th. Thanks friends!

Monica K. - Husband's recovery

Update On Mark: I haven’t updated in a while. There hasn’t been a whole lot to share until recently. Mark is five weeks post treatment and well into the recovery phase.

He started getting his sense of taste back this week and ate dinner with us last night for the first time in two months. He still has a little residual phlegm, but it is nothing compared to what he was dealing with, and it no longer impedes his ability to swallow!

He had a feeding tube mishap late last week which resulted in it leaking again. The leaking hasn’t stopped but it is somewhat manageable. The doc assures us it will stop, just have to give it a few days.

Mark is hopeful that it will come out sooner than later now that he is able to eat. His doctor says he has to be able to eat enough by mouth to maintain his weight. He can only taste certain things just yet (mostly savory) and can only eat very small amounts so the feeding tube is providing 99% of his nutrition at the moment.

He doesn’t get out much because of the leaky feeding tube. That and he gets really tired only leaving the house for doctors appointments. We did go to see a movie last week. That was a huge treat!

From what the doctors can tell, he is healing up well and there are no physical signs of cancer! A CT scan has been scheduled for the end of this month to confirm it.

We are as always greatful for your prayers and love you all!

Melanie L. - Health

I’m asking for prayer please.

I’m on Day 12 of ridiculous shoulder/neck pain.  And day 7 of allergic reaction hives from a medicine I took to help ease the pain.

I’m doing all the doctor recommended things.

I’ve always been a very healthy person and hold myself to high level of productivity.

So prayers that I trust God when the answer isn’t quick. Swallow pride at asking for help. Do what I can do without pushing myself and rest rest rest my body.

Also prayers that William has a calm week.

Niki W. - Sister PTG

Yesterday my baby sister, Natalie passed. Her page tells her story better than I ever would and I encourage you to see her journey through her eyes.

Two weeks ago Nathaniel and I were able to go see her and say goodbye. I will forever be grateful that we were able to spend some time with her.

Thank you to all of you who have loved me through this. Thank you for the airport rides, crashing on couches, phone venting sessions, comforting words, big hugs, and flowers.

Everyone has been so kind and helpful through this journey, and I’m so grateful for the friends and family I have. The question “What can I do?” has been asked countless times, and until now, I haven’t really had an answer. So friends, what can you do? You can spend a little extra time with your loved ones for me. Hug them tighter, laugh at their dumb jokes, stay up too late, tell them you love them, tell them you love them again. If you have kiddos, give them an extra treat and let them stay up past their bedtime tonight. Put a little more love in this world, that’s my request.

Ruth H. - Health

Hey friends,

I’ve been a bit quiet on here lately because this past month has been an absolute whirlwind of emotions as I was diagnosed with breast cancer.

There is no easy way for me to say this, but I wanted it to be known so that my friends and loved ones can be praying for me.

I’m praising God for the fact that I have options and will be having surgery in September. I’m so grateful for my amazing husband who has been with me every step of the way, for my supportive and loving children and family. I am so grateful for friends that have rallied around me and given me love and given me the space to cry and share all my rollercoaster of emotions with.

This has truly been the hardest month of my life, and I would never wish this to happen to anyone. However I know God has me and will continue to heal me.

This cancer was found at a routine yearly mammogram… all you lovely ladies PLEASE get your yearly mammogram. It truly saved my life.

I am asking that you would pray for me as I am fighting this cancer and am on a long journey of recovery. Please pray for my wonderful strong husband who is holding it all together, pray for my children who are processing this and pray for my family.

If anyone has any questions I am an open book and I would love to share my journey with you.

God is so good and I am taking this one day at a time. ❤️

Darren N. - Division / Health

Friends,

It was such a blessing to be with you all on Saturday.  It was an amazing day to be together (finally!) and what a joy it was to see people at camp enjoying time with each other.  It was also a wonderful opportunity to get to know all the new officers to the division and welcome them to the great Golden State Division.

I write this morning though to ask for your prayers for some of our officers.  First, I am asking for continued prayers for Daisy and Manuel G.  Daisy has been in hospital for 6 days now due to covid-19 pneumonia and on Saturday, Manuel was also take to the hospital due to breathing difficulties and has been kept there.  A corps member has stayed at the quarters to be with Jacob and David.  Please continue to pray for this family who really need healing and a touch from God.

I also ask for your prayers for Joe and Judy Z.  As some of you are aware, Joe broke his wrist in the soccer game at camp.  He was taken to the emergency room and got back home later that night with his arm heavily bandaged in a sling. Judy wasn’t able to be with us at camp because a few days earlier she had fallen at home and sprained her ankle and is on crutches.  So please also pray for healing for this family as well today.

Finally, I would ask you to remember Charleen M. who with Matt and their kids have just arrived to our division.  Charleen has been dealing recently with significant health issues and she too was taken to hospital yesterday afternoon with internal pain.  She also needs our prayers for healing and relief from pain.

We are one division, one body, one family.  When one part hurts, we all hurt.  Please present these requests to the Lord today.

Father, will lift our brothers and sisters to you now who are hurting and in pain.  We seek your healing power over them and entrust them to your care.  Be with them today and grant them your peace.  Bless their families too.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Thank you and have a great day.

Darren

Susan D. - Family/daughter to find job

Yesterday was the 3 month aversary of my mom’s passing. Today is a hard day. I am very much in my feelings.   I am also requesting prayers for my Sophie as she is feeling discouraged in her job search.  She would love to find a job in the Fresno/San Juaquin area. She is very bright and has her degree.   Thank you all for your love and prayers.

Christa S. - Health

I finally had my Multiple Sclerosis MRI imaging on Monday. I anticipated that I’d be reviewing the results later in September when I was scheduled to meet with my neurologist. Well, I got a call yesterday from his office asking us to come today to go over “findings” on my brain 🧠 scan. Seems the cervical isn’t showing any significant changes, but the brain imaging is showing something more serious. Even after 18 years of battling MS, I still never really know what to expect. So, Mathew, the children and I will embrace whatever the news is and go from there. 🙏🏻 Prayers are always appreciated! ♥️

Erin K. - Neighbor Health

Friends-please pray for my neighbor, Eusebio Alvarez. He has been intubated for Covid for 15 days now. Pray for his beautiful wife Nazareth, and his three boys, ages 12, 6 and 4. Pray for the hospital staff too, as they are getting tired again. Please pray with me. Here is their beautiful house, they are such wonderful friends and brothers and sisters in the Lord.

Martin H. - Mom's PTG

Last night our wonderful mum, Maureen Hunt was promoted to glory following a short illness. No words can express how much we as a family and wider army community will miss her…her small stature contained a giant of faith, grace and love for others.

A couple of nights before her passing these words were on her lips…

Well done mum!

1.
I KNOW Thee who Thou art,
And what Thy healing name;
For when my fainting heart
The burden nigh o'ercame,
I saw Thy footprints on my road
Where lately passed the Son of God.

2.
Thy name is joined with mine
By every human tie,
And my new name is Thine,
A child of God am I;
And never more alone, since Thou
Art on the road beside me now.

3.
Beside Thee as I walk,
I will delight in Thee,
In sweet communion talk
Of all Thou art to me;
The beauty of Thy face behold
And know Thy mercies manifold.

4.
Let nothing draw me back
Or turn my heart from Thee,
But by the Calvary track
Bring me at last to see
The courts of God, that city fair,
And find my name is written there.

Darren N. - Gaytan Family Health

Friends,

Good morning!

I write to ask for your prayers for the Gaytan family – Captains Manuel and Daisy, along with their boys Jacob and David. Last week Daisy and Jacob were confirmed to have the COVID-19 virus and so the family has been quarantining at home.

Manuel took Daisy to the hospital last night as she has continued to have breathing problems and it has been determined that she has COVID-19 pneumonia. Jacob is still feeling the effects of the virus and now both Manuel and David are also starting to feel tired and unwell with bouts of coughing and pain in joints and legs.

Would you please take a moment right now to lift this family in prayer and to do so periodically throughout the day. James reminds us that the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. Let’s pray for healing, relief, peace and protection over the Gaytan family today.

Thank you for your prayers,

Darren Norton, Major

Jim G. - Sister's Husband PTG

Asking for prayers for my sister Mary. My brother in law Ken just passed away. Thank you.

David K. - Neighbors Health

Psalm 35:27 “ take pleasure in the prosperity of your saints…”

My neighbor two houses down is fighting for his life at UMC.  He contracted CoViD and was placed on intubation 15 days ago.  Yesterday his oxygen saturation was 30% - today it’s 20%.

The Bible verse mentioned isn’t just about “profitability”or “success” as much as it’s about health, wellness, ability, strength, endurance, tenacity, Godly wisdom, and eternal security.

He has a wife and 3 boys - oldest is 12.  Please pray - God is enough…God, take pleasure in the prosperity of your saints.

This verse covers all of you as well!  Be blessed and prosper!

Franklin G. - Bobby Bowden

Legendary Florida State University college football coach Bobby Bowden and his wife Ann announced yesterday that he has been diagnosed with a terminal medical condition. He said, “I’ve always tried to serve God’s purpose for my life, on and off the field, and I am prepared for what is to come.” Coach Bowden finished his career with 377 wins over 44 years of coaching. More importantly, he knows about winning off the field. He’s been very vocal about his Christian faith and the impact he wanted to have on those who played for him. He has taken players to church, read the Bible with them, prayed with them, and much more. When asked about his coaching philosophy, he once said, “When I put everything in God’s hands, I don’t have to worry about anything. I don’t have to worry about winning ball games. I want to. I want to win as much as anybody does, but I don’t have to worry about this. I know that when I die, I live eternally with my God, so the pressure’s off!” What a powerful testimony. Join me in praying for Coach Bowden and his family.

"Often when Jeanne and I visited her parents Jeanne’s mother, Norma, would sit at her keyboard and play her favorite songs and hymns. One of her favorite hymns was “I’ll Fly Away”. Just a few moments ago, Norma took that final flight home and has now arrived safely in the presence of God. Please pray for Jeanne, her dad and sisters, and the rest of the family. While we’re saddened by her passing we celebrate her arrival in Heaven today."

Apparently it takes a village, or in this case a fire department, to get on old Englishman on to a gurney! Nothing serious, but couldn’t move after something gave way in my back while overlifting (probably not a word, but you get the idea). Thank you Torrance Fire Department! Several narcotic-laden IV’s later and I am fine. Welcome to being 58! Also my first ride in an ambulance, so cross that off my bucket list….

Franklin Graham- Europe Flood

At least 120 people have now died as a result of devastating flooding across Europe. Record amounts of rainfall caused rivers to overflow resulting in flooded homes, washed out roads and bridges, damaged power lines, and widespread debris. In some areas, entire villages are underwater. Germany and Belgium are the worst-hit countries, and about 1,000 people are still missing. Sadly, the death toll is expected to rise as rescue teams continue searching for the missing. Our Samaritan's Purse-Germany team is responding to help in the hardest hit areas of the country. Cologne, in the western state of North Rhine-Westphalia, got six inches of rainfall in 24 hours this week, and our teams are already there helping to clean up flooded homes. We are working to provide hot meals for families there who are without electricity. Let’s pray for storm victims in the midst of this crisis, for first responders, and for those who are ministering to them.

Sara E. - Marcelo's Son & Family

Asking for prayers for the family of someone who was a good friend and someone I used to work with, Marcelo. He died in a river accident in front of his six year old son. I just found out about this today from his brother. I visited the family today, his mom is not eating, sleeping, she's pretty frozen to all of this and his son, also named Marcelo, is very distraught and not sleeping either, the mom of the child is not in the picture right now, she's got problems, so she can't be around him right now. So please pray for Marcel's son. He has neither of his parents. They will have a service Saturday for him and I will be able to say my goodbye then but pray for me too! Marcelo did know Jesus, he was Catholic.

Nancy D. - Fires at Southwest Division

Team Cascade,

It has only been a few months ago that fires were raging in Oregon. We know how difficult it is!

Last night, I received this urgent message and ask you to join in prayer with our Camp Ponderosa brothers and sisters for safety from the fires

From Lt. Colonel Wild:

“As you know camp is in danger with the fires. The fire jumped the line and is now 1.5 miles from camp . The NCSO is parked near to protect camp. Neil and Teri are safe and helping the fire department. Camp has offered its fire hydrants to refill fire trucks . Please pray for everyone’s safety and for camp. Thank you.”

Thank you for praying! Thank you for serving! Have a blessed Monday!

Iva W. - Sister PTG

"It is with great sadness and a very heavy heart that I write to let my friends and family know that my sister Lisa passed away early this morning.  She was a great lady who loved unconditionally and was always up for a challenge.  Almost everywhere Brian and I have moved over the years Lisa always followed.  She was smart, funny and yes even crazy.  I never doubted for a minute that Lisa loved me and she knew that I loved her.  I am going to miss her terribly.  Your prayers for our family would be greatly appreciated."

Kari - Guam Corps Ministry

Asking for prayer friends. Two things. First, our small corps is but a portion of the overall ministry here in Guam. We have no lay leaders that volunteer their time toward the corps ministry. Eric and I do EVERYTHING. And secondly, Eric’s chronic pain is relentless. He’s running on empty. He needs some reprieve. We need some help with the corps. We’ve always opted to begin the programs and trust that The Lord will send its leaders. We are hoping The Lord is hearing our cry for assistance. Thank you in advance.

David T. - Recovery from Surgery

So here we are officially the start of day 4 after left hip replacement… it’s been rough , pain higher than I expected given the last time I had right side down 5 years ago. Things are allot different with pain pills so they want you to manage with Tylenol and use the other with “ breakthrough” pain. 5 years ago it was here are good drugs and take Tylenol if needed in between.. but I’m here day 4, feels like a roller coaster. If I’m just sitting and laying back I feel ok but when it’s time to walk or go to the bathroom or whatever else that is weight bearing the pain is very sharpe and literally breath taking.. I know I’m on the down hill starting today but please keep praying as this journey is not easy… thank you everyone for your thoughts , prayers, messages ect.. I love you all..

Monica K. - Husband's Recovery/Pain

Mark Update:

It’s been a rough few days. The original feeding tube continued to leak and cause irritation.  On Monday they replaced it with a more substantial one. It was done without anesthesia and was incredibly painful.

We were hoping that would be that. Wrong.

The new tube began leaking almost immediately after we got home. For two days we constantly changed out dressings until we ran out of supplies. I called yesterday early evening to ask for more. And was told to take him to the ER.

The ER docs tried a few different things to get the leaking to stop and  were unsuccessful. They loaded us up with dressing supplies and told him to go back to radiology this morning.

A quick call to radiation first thing and they told us to contact his surgeon. Met with the surgeon at 10:30 am and it turns out the new tube was never engaged.

For two days stomach acid has been literally burning the skin off his belly. He is in a great deal of pain and incredibly discouraged with this whole process.

I’m so tired that if I sit down, I fall asleep.   I can’t imagine what it’s like for him.

Fred M. - Malia's Family

Franklin Graham

“Then I turned my face to the Lord God, seeking him by prayer and pleas for mercy with fasting and sackcloth and ashes. I prayed to the Lord my God and made confession, saying, ‘O Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, we have sinned and done wrong and acted wickedly and rebelled, turning aside from your commandments and rules. We have not listened to your servants the prophets, who spoke in your name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land. To you, O Lord, belongs righteousness, but to us open shame’...” (Daniel 9:3-7)

Former Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen is loved and respected here in the Carolinas. He just retired in January, and his family is facing a real battle. His eight-year-old son, TJ, was born with a congenital heart defect that has required several surgeries including three open heart procedures and a pacemaker. Today Greg announced that TJ’s heart was "reaching its end" and it "ultimately could lead to a transplant." I know they would appreciate your prayers for TJ and their entire family.

Mark K. - Health Update

Friends, Family and Prayer Warriors:

This morning was a Radiation Consultation in which my “mask” was fitted, and I had a CT scan.

I would ask that you add the following ladies to your prayer list along with Dr. Warr, Dr. Underhill and Nurse Patsy as they will be conducting my radiation treatments 5 days a week:

Radiation Therapists: Ashleigh, Sarah, Kendyl & Danielle and Nurse Brittany.

I assured these ladies that they will be prayed for by name.

Thank you all for your support and prayer, it means everything to know I’m not fighting alone.

Monica K. - Mark' Health

An update from Mark:

Friends, Family and Prayer Warriors:

Yesterday I had the opportunity to meet the team that will be caring for me as I travel through this dark valley and I’m asking that when you pray for me, you would also pray for them by name. Pray for wisdom and guidance as it relates to their specialty.

Dr. Thomas Warr will be overseeing chemotherapy.
Dr. Kelly Underhill will be overseeing radiation.
Nurse Patsy will be supporting them both.

There are a few more consultations that need to take place before treatment can begin, so I covet your prayers as preparations are made and treatment schedules are set.

Thank you all.

Adina C. - Home

"Friends, would you pray for us to find our home this week?  Thank you!"

Franklin G. - Russian School Shooting

"Pray for the families of seven children and two adults who were killed today in a terrible school shooting in Russia. Twenty-one others, mostly children, were also injured. A suspect was captured on video, all dressed in black headed toward the school, and a 19-yr-old has been detained by law enforcement. Evil knows no borders, and neither does grief—whether it’s Russia or here at home. Our hearts break for these devastated parents, siblings, grandparents, and other loved ones. May they know the comfort of the Lord who is our “refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1)."

Pray for Israel / Palestinian Peace

From Franklin Graham:

"I have many friends who live in Israel, both Arab and Jew, so we are very concerned about the situation there. People have been killed, families are cowering in fear in bomb shelters, and they need our prayers. As we are commanded in the Scriptures, let us “pray for the peace of Jerusalem” (Psalm 122:6)."

Tuesday, May 11, 2021

Monica K. - Husband Mark's Health

The King Family could use your prayers.

We got a call this afternoon to inform us Mark has throat cancer. Specifically, Squamous Cell Carcinoma or Tonsil Cancer.

The doctor assures us this is a very treatable cancer with one of the highest survivability rates. The first course of action is to attack it with radiation and chemotherapy. Surgery is an option if they don’t appear to be effective after three weeks.

In typical Mark fashion, he is more concerned with how this is going to affect the kids than he is about himself. He asks that you pray for them specifically.

He isn’t on social media these days so I will keep everyone updated as we have information to share.

Donnelle - Friend's Health

I have a very good friend in the hospital, please pray for her and her family.  We were all able to go up and spend some time with her this evening and two of her daughters are staying with her tonight.

Jason G. - Mom PTG

Many of you have already heard from my sister’s Facebook post, but for those who have not, our mother went into the presence of the Lord this morning. I struggle to put into words both the disbelief and heartache we are currently experiencing. Please keep my siblings and I in your prayers as we try to wrap our hearts and minds around what is happening. Please pray for her grandchildren, family members, and those who love our mom. .....

And too my Mom…. Though my heart breaks here, I take comfort in knowing that you are in no more pain and are celebrating your first Mother’s Day in the presence of God with all of those you have loved who went before you.  I love you forever and always

Larry J. - Friend's Health

Recently I had asked for prayers for a friend who had an accident at home and was not in good shape. Well it is time for an update. I am happy to say that he is alive, walking, talking and functioning almost normally (which is an improvement from where he was before the accident). He has had to re-learn a lot but he is well on the way to recovery. Thank you everyone for your prayers. They do work.

National Day of Prayer

Today we celebrate The National Day of Prayer.  This is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman.

2021 NATIONAL PRAYER FOR AMERICA

Lord, we look up and see the billions of stars

You created, and we praise You. We look

around and see the billions of people You

created in Your image; uniquely, fearfully,

wonderfully, and we thank You. Wrap us in Your

Spirit and unite us in Your family, Lord.

Thank You for loving us first. In Your love for

the whole world, You sent Your Son to save us.

Jesus, in You alone we have abundant and

everlasting life. Thank you for teaching and

leading us to love and live, fruitful, and faithful.

In Your life, death, resurrection, and ascension

You are our Lord, our love, our life, and our

liberty. You came to “bind up the brokenhearted,

To proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners.”

You have freed us from the penalty and shame of our sin;

free to live life as You designed and Your destiny for our Nation.

Spirit search us, convict us, as we repent for

our sin and the sins of America. Please cleanse,

fill, and send us. We rejoice, knowing that Your

forgiveness makes us acceptable and effective

vessels for Your love, life, and liberty in our

family, church, education, workplace, military,

government, art, entertainment, and media.

We pray that America will be united in love to

serve You with all our hearts, all our ways, and

all of our days. Unite us to pray, love; to live and

walk by the Spirit. Conform and transform us

as we pray and proclaim,

“Now the Lord is the Spirit,

and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”

We pray this is the name of Jesus, Amen.

Kathy Branzell
President, National Day of Prayer Task

our sin and the sins of America. Please cleanse,

fill, and send us. We rejoice, knowing that Your

forgiveness makes us acceptable and effective

vessels for Your love, life, and liberty in our

family, church, education, workplace, military,

government, art, entertainment, and media.

We pray that America will be united in love to

serve You with all our hearts, all our ways, and

all of our days. Unite us to pray, love; to live and

walk by the Spirit. Conform and transform us

as we pray and proclaim,

“Now the Lord is the Spirit,

and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”

We pray this is the name of Jesus, Amen.

2021 NATIONAL PRAYER FOR AMERICA

Lord, we look up and see the billions of stars

You created, and we praise You. We look

around and see the billions of people You

created in Your image; uniquely, fearfully,

wonderfully, and we thank You. Wrap us in Your

Spirit and unite us in Your family, Lord.

Thank You for loving us first. In Your love for

the whole world, You sent Your Son to save us.

Jesus, in You alone we have abundant and

everlasting life. Thank you for teaching and

leading us to love and live, fruitful, and faithful.

In Your life, death, resurrection, and ascension

You are our Lord, our love, our life, and our

liberty. You came to “bind up the brokenhearted,

To proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners.”

You have freed us from the penalty and shame of our sin;

free to live life as You designed and Your destiny for our Nation.
