SAY Summit

Please pray for traveling mercies for all who will be heading to Camp Homelani today for The Salvation Army SAY Summit weekend event! Hilo Corps are bringing 8 young people (chaperones Brett and Capt. Shoshannah). Pray for all the leaders! Most importantly, pray that the people's hearts will be changed and challenged to live through Christ and love Him more and more! To God be the Glory!

Saw my surgeon yesterday. Though my leg has a long way to go towards healing, I got the final okay to travel with a few instructions. Packing up to head out in about an hour. Planning to make it to Twin Falls tonight, then on to Portland tomorrow night. Please pray for safe travel and good memories made along the way!

Sybil S - memorial service - fb

Today at 2pm New York time our family will be taking time to remember my precious dad who has been "Promoted to Glory". I will miss him. I hope our time together at his memorial service will bring my family closer to the One who lovingly created them and to each other. Please pray for us during this time. I am leading the meeting and giving the short message because I don't want this special opportunity to share Jesus with my family to be passed up.

Shine a Light on Slavery Day

https://secure.enditmovement.com Please join me in praying for the 27,000,000 men, women and children trapped in slavery. Here are some ideas of what to pray for: Pray that awareness continues to spread. Pray for prevention efforts. Pray for proper training for law enforcement, people in the courts and for people in government. Pray for the rescue of slaves. Pray for the doctors, nurses, counselors and others who help those rescued from slavery. Pray for the physical, mental, and spiritual healing of those rescued from slavery. Tomorrow, February 27, 2015 is "Shine a Light on Slavery Day." It is used to raise awareness on slavery. The #enditmovement works with organizations, including The Salvation Army to bring awareness to the world, to help in prevention and to bring rescue and restoration to survivors. On this day, the movement suggests that participants draw a red "X" on the back of each of their hands, take a photo and post it to their social media sites using the #enditmovement hash tag to bring awareness. If you don't have social media sites, having a red "X" on each hand still spreads awareness- people will wonder why its there. This is a perfect time to help others become aware. I encourage all of you to bring awareness in some way to your families, your youth groups, to your community and to your congregation, not just tomorrow, but continually. This may also serve as a platform in teaching corps kids and teenagers about personal safety, what's going on in the world, how to pray for others etc... May God continue to bless and strengthen you and your ministry, Janniese M. Divisional Protecting the Mission Consultant The Salvation Army
