As you know, The Salvation Army is deeply committed to fighting and responding to human trafficking! We believe prayer is foundational and an essential, powerful tool for fighting for freedom and working towards a world free from exploitation. Every year a Sunday in September is set aside as the ‘International Day of Prayer for Victims of Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking’ and provides an important focal point for prayer to support people caught up in slavery and those working with the victims.
This year’s theme is ‘Light to Life’, inspired by Exodus 3:2 NIV: ‘There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within the bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire, it did not burn up.’
Resources: ‘Light to Life’ themed resources, including sermons, bible studies, prayer stations, etc., are available in English with French, Hindi, Portuguese, Spanish, Swahili (and Tamil to follow) and may be downloaded here: https://sar.my/light-to-life
