Silvia S. - Cascade Division prayers

Good Evening friends,

I pray that you all have a chance to rest this weekend and reflect on the wonderful things that God has done for us during this new normal. Tonight we are sharing the praise report from Major Katina Hanson from Eugene Corps.

“An elderly woman contacted our office inquiring about food security. I took a food box to the woman who lives in our area but in a remote location. Her home had kept her captive as she was unable to go into town and secure her necessities. She was very grateful for the food and I was able to share with her our literature, our mission and God’s love. None of this is significantly new, however it is a reminder that our day to day responsibilities are uniquely positioned to give hope and compassion to the most isolated. We sometimes isolate ourselves for our differing reasons perhaps through forced proximity, perhaps by survival, perhaps by awareness of our own insecurities. Ironically the most powerful tool of isolation is within the confines of our spiritual journey.”

Psalm 91:1 says, “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.”

We rest in God, it sounds as if this is an oxymoron because we tend to fight the state of being paralyzed in any form, while attempting to strive toward our own best thinking. As we attempt to redesign our daily routines may we also find time to isolate with Him, praise Him, worship Him, dwell in Him.

Let’s pray,

Dear heavenly father we love you and we are grateful for all the blessings you given us. Father we pray for our Cascade Division and for the people we are serving. Father we pray that we can continue to provide the needs of our community. We pray that we will be able to not only provide food but also hope to many people that are suffering right now.

We want to lift up Majors Kevin and Katina Hanson and the Eugene community. Father we pray for guidance, strengthen and blessings upon their lives. Father renew their strength, give them the rest they need to continue to do your will.

Father we are grateful for all the programs and ministries in our division ministry. Please continue to use each one of us to share your love and hope. We pray that everything we will do and say will glorify your name. In Jesus name we pray,

Amem!
