Praise the Lord for lowering the strength of hurricane Madeline to a tropical storm. Continue to pray for safety and the 29 people in the shelters.

As many of you know, Joanne and I have been transferred to Portland Tab here in the Cascade Division and things have been very short of normal for us in many months but we thank God for those of you who have reached out to us and offered your support for these trying times. And when I mean trying, I mean it in every sense of the word. We have been welcomed here at Portland Tab and the people have been great to be around but it is different, it is a different role, a different job, a different home, a different car, and while those some don't matter I want to thank God for each of you who know us and pray for us. Currently, Joanne is in a battle with her health and while being in a new appointment doesn't lend itself to the sense of routine or normalcy. Joanne is in some serious pain right now because of the Fibromyalgia and Lupus, her body is basically attacking itself. It doesn't help being in a region that has cold and wet weather and we ask God for more sunny and warmer days while we are here. As try to get our son settled and Joanne the needed medical care she needs, I find myself to be taxed out and I DON'T GET how moms do this day in and day out. I continue to solicit your prayers for Joanne, Micah, and myself. Micah starts school next week and we are experiencing a dramatic change in his needs and educational style here in Oregon. At the same time, if something does change in the next day or two with Joanne needs, I will be forced to fly her back to Los Angeles for her to get the needed care and medical attention she needs. The treatment options are just about nil and or a long process in order to get the need treatment. It seems to be a trade off, short ER waiting times, horrible length to get in to see a Primary Care Doctor and even longer to see a Specialist and not enough of them here in Portland. I know that the Lord in control but yet I find myself scratching my head thinking why am I here, who thought that this would be good and then I think. I need to choose joy, consider all things to be good since I love the Lord and so on and so forth. Not sure what I am thinking.....

Mel's brother - Frank

Our condolences goes out to Melody and her family. Her brother, Frank A., passed away last night. Please lift up Melody her family up in your prayers during this difficult time. Pray for peace and for strength. Pray that all the details will fall in place as they prepare for the funeral. 

Joanne G. - health

"Pain won't end, it's torture. ERs up here do not treat pain and do not admit unless it's part of the plan of your specialists. It is part of my pain plan back home, but they won't accept out of state doctors' plans and I have to go through that process here which takes months. I can't turn my neck, muscles swollen and hot, can't move- I'm desperate. It's like being hit in the back with a sledge hammer or having your spinal cord pulled out slowly. I'm in agony."

Naomi O. - Health / Spirit

Please continue to pray for Naomi's health. Pray that our Lord will continue to minister to her spirit during this time. May God's presence be upon her and strengthen her.

Terrie W.- Dan's dad

My devotions this morning started out with "Entrust your loved ones to Me, release them into My protective care.  When you release loved ones to Me you are free to cling to My hand."  Praying for Dan's Dad this morning and releasing him into the hands of the Father.  

Surgery will not be taking place as it is too risky.  His Dad is 83 and has congestive heart failure and kidney failure.  Praying for family as they spend this time with Grandpa WIlson. Thanking God that He gives us a Word when we need it.

Please pray for Mr. George - Geola's dad. Please continue to pray for his health. Lift up his family up as they surround and support him during this time.

National Seminar on Evangelism (Aug 6-13)

The National Seminar on Evangelism was a wonderful event in Colorado Springs at Glenn Erie. The staff did a great job in teaching, facilitating, and being wonderful role-model for everyone. The accommodation was excellent. The food for the body was delicious and the food for the soul was made us more hungry to do God's Will. We praise the Lord for this wonderful opportunity, through the Salvation Army, to attend this annual seminar. We met many people and locked in wonderful friendship. Deric, Togo, Fred, and I went for our church. May God continue to guide each of us to reach for the world for Jesus! May all that have been shared and heard be applied accordingly on the field....this is our prayer! To God be the Glory!
