ARC men temporary housing

You may have seen or heard about the huge warehouse fire we had in one of our Salvation Army sites this week (Riverside/Perris). Thankfully, no one was hurt but the fire was pretty devastating to the facility. What an unexpected blessing to be able host the men from the facility here at Pine Summit for a few days! The hope is to allow them time and space to process and prepare for what going back will be like. Pray for these guys and our Salvation Army leaders as they come to mind! 🙏

Debbie D. - Health

Checking into the hospital. Please pray.

David S. - Health

I'm going to update my friends on this sickness, so you will be reminded to pray for me.

I was tested on Monday, but the results can take up to 2 weeks. This is day 11 of me being down. I am on a steroid for my lungs. I feel better today as far as that sick feeling, but today I am struggling for breath, so I greatly covet your prayers. I know they work. When so many prayed for me the other day, I felt better than since the beginning. God is good.

I called my doc and was told if it gets worse to go to the er. That is a last resort for me. (In fact I really don't think of a hospital as a resort at all) I saw a video of a doctor who has had great results with some asthma med that is administered through breathing treatments. If you messaged me that video, could you resend it? I can't remember the name of that drug and would like to ask my doc about it.

Michele F. - Update on Rich

7 is the magic number...Rich just finished his 7 treatments of Chemotherapy at Cancer Care Northwest today! "I can do all things through CHRIST which strengtheneth me." Philippians 4:13....#cancernursesarethebest ❤️🙏🏼

Franklin G. - Pastor John PTG

This family needs our prayers. John Powell, a 38-year-old Texas pastor, pulled over on the roadside with his passenger to help some other people involved in a car crash. As they got out to help, a semi-truck came toward them and John pushed his passenger out of the way and was struck and killed. A friend who knew John well said, “In true form, this servant and gentle leader we all knew and love gave his life so that others may live.” The Bible tells us, “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints” (Psalm 116:15). Please pray for John’s wife, Katherine, and their four children during this very difficult time—may the Lord comfort and help them. Also pray for the church he pastored, Emmanuel Baptist Church in New Caney.

Pray for Pastor John Cao Release

Free Christian Pastor John Cao

Christian Pastor John Cao – a U.S. permanent resident – has been wrongfully convicted and sentenced in China.

After decades working in China and Burma (Myanmar), providing for the poor, sharing the love of Christ, and establishing schools for impoverished children, Pastor John was arrested and imprisoned by Chinese authorities as part of their increased crackdown on Christian pastors.

Pastor John’s wife and 2 sons (all U.S. citizens from North Carolina) desperately want their father released and returned home to America.

Pastor John has been unjustly targeted for his Christian faith and sentenced to seven years in prison.

He’s been imprisoned since March 2017. His health is deteriorating, and he’s lost over 50 pounds. He’s forced to share a cell with a dozen inmates and only 1 bed.

We're representing Pastor John's family, aggressively working internationally for his ultimate freedom. We’ve mobilized our resources across the globe and are urging China to release Pastor John and allow him to come home to the United States to be reunited with his wife and kids.

Joanna W. - Mom's Health

Please continue to pray for my mom.  She had the pacemaker put in yesterday and we thought she was going home today, but we found out that her heart rate is continuing to be erratic, so they are going to keep her another night and give her medicine. If the medicine doesn't work by tomorrow, they will do a cardioversion, which means they will use paddles to try to shock her heart back into rhythm.  As you can imagine, this has been quite a roller coaster.  She and my Dad are likely quite exhausted and one again, it's hard for all of us to not be there. Please continue to pray for her, for my Dad, and for the doctors. My family also would love your prayers as we pray her through this.  Thank you!

Kimberly B. - Dad's Healing

My dad has been working really hard and recovering from his brain surgery. He is such a champ as always! The surgery was a success but we still have a challenge ahead as he faces treatment. This week begins his treatment for the cancer. We all know how important this part of the process this is. I am asking that you pray for my dad during this time because the power of God is within us all as we call on God to heal my dad.

I also want to take this opportunity to shout out to my mom, I don't thank her enough. She is leading our family like the woman of God I have always known her to be. She is seeking God's strength in this time and it is such a powerful example to me and our family. We love you mom!

Plus my brothers, sister, Grace and Shelby! I couldn't be more proud of all of you and how we have pulled together to support each other. I have never felt more loved by all of you and I will never forget how we have taken care of each other during the time.

If you know me you know I have a BIG extended family. I have always loved this part of my life but I have never been more grateful for all of them and their out pouring of love and gentleness towards my dad, my mom and my siblings.

Share this, tag your prayer warrior friends, do whatever you do to spread the word and get the world praying healing for my dad.

Pray for Nigerian Believers

Protect Nigeria’s Dying Christians from Brutal Persecution

Christians in Nigeria live in a constant state of terror, fearing abduction, torture, and murder by radical Islamic jihadists.

Boko Haram, the jihadist army and Nigerian arm of ISIS, has slaughtered innocent Christians. It burns down Christian churches. One survivor stated, “I saw bodies in the street. Children and women, some were crying for help.” It even poses as preachers to slaughter Christian congregants.

Other jihadist groups, like the Fulani Herdsmen, are increasing this barbaric persecution of Christians in Nigeria, slaughtering thousands.

We have an obligation to act. We’re drastically expanding our Persecution Project. We’re launching a multi-pronged legal advocacy campaign, urging the U.N., U.S., and world leaders to take urgent action.

We’ve mobilized our global offices, continuing to expand our most extensive campaign for the persecuted Church ever undertaken, preparing numerous legal memoranda, advocacy letters, and policy proposals.

Together we can protect Christians in Nigeria from the growing scourge of jihadist persecution.

Rich's Health

This is my husband Rich...he is actually smiling for me when I took this picture of him today...I normally don’t share these kinds of things on FB...but it is time to do so!  This picture was taken at Cancer Care Northwest where he is receiving treatments for tonsil cancer.  It was diagnosed in April after a swollen lymph node on the left side of his neck that wasn’t going away...We are approaching week #5 of radiation and chemotherapy for him.  The good news is that it is Stage 1...treatable and curable and was found in time.  One thing I have learned on this journey of cancer is that it does not pick and choose who gets it...there have been to put it lightly...some “crappy” days for Rich!  As we progress onto 3 more weeks of treatments, it gets more intense...fatigue sets into overdrive..not wanting to eat anything... he will be getting a feeding tube this week...more medication everyday... losing weight...not so much fun!  Rich has had a great attitude and believe me everyday is a new day....and a struggle at times...but he knows where his faith and trust is...in Jesus!  Without him in the midst of all this...would quite frankly be impossible!  While reading my devotional Streams In The Desert, I came across this passage...”The path of faith is one of sorrow and joy, suffering and healing comfort, tears and smiles, trials and victories, conflicts and triumphs, and also hardships, dangers, beatings, persecutions, misunderstanding, trouble, and distress.  Yet “in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us”.  Romans 8:37... yes that is how much Jesus loves us...even during the storms in our lives.  Rich and I keep praising God through the great times and the not so great times as we go through this together with Jesus by our side!  When the world looks bleak and we aren’t sure what is going to happen from one day to the next in our broken world that we live in...trust in the one who loves you and died on the cross for you...and most of all LOVE one another and don’t ever take anything for granted...especially those you love!  Our families have been there 200% for us through this difficult time along with our many friends...and church family...thank you for walking with us ....the prayers are what count the most...and God is answering them in little and big ways!  Rich has the best Doctors and the best medical staff and are so thankful for that...the cancer nurses are phenomenal...and the other cancer patients we have met while on this journey and shared stories are so uplifting to us!  So please continue to pray for Rich and his recovery in healing at this time!  Remember Jesus is there for you every single day..he will get you through no matter what...and most of all love one another and be kind...it truly goes along way! ❤️🙏🏻🙌🏼✝️

Julie S. - Son Andrew's Health

Prayers for Andrew please!!

Last night he developed at pretty high fever -  103.7. We set alarms to check on him ever few hours through the night. Called the dr today and got some antibiotics (we think it’s a uti). His fever went down this afternoon (after his first dose of antibiotics) with out meds, but is spiking tonight and he has now thrown up twice.
Please pray that it is only a uti.
Pray that the meds kick in, and get rid of the fever, and that he will keep down his meds. He is refusing to eat as he has thrown up both times we encouraged him to try.
