TSA Western Territory Prayer Requests

CALL TO PRAYER!

The Salvation Army Call to Prayer for June 24, 2010

“The Lord is good, a refuge in time of trouble. He cares for those who trust in Him.” Nahum 1:7

“Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need” Heb 4:16 (Love to Pray)

1.Continue to pray for all those who are affected by the oil well disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. Pray that it will be stopped quickly and that the huge clean-up effort will be successful.

2.Pray for America, “Father, thank You for the United States and its government. I pray for the President, the national and local government, the judges, the business leaders and all those who are in leadership positions in this country. Please protect our military men and women and their families and keep them safe and free from all harm.”

3.Pray for The Salvation Army and our Leaders: For General Shaw and Commissioner Helen Clifton, Commissioners Gaither; International Leaders, Western Territorial leaders; Commissioners Philip and Patricia Swyers, Colonels William and Susan Harfoot, THQ Cabinet and Staff, Divisional Leaders, ARC Officers, Corps Officers, Cadets and Employees And pray for Commissioners James and Carolyn Knaggs, designated Western Territorial leaders effective July 1, 2010. Bless and protect all those officers moving to new appointments this week. God Bless them and The Salvation Army!

4.Be in prayer for the people of the Portland Moore Street Corps. They recently lost, through sudden death, their Youth Worker, Blake Web. This week, another young man, 17, part of the corps, was murdered on his way home from the hospital where they had just taken his mother off life support. This having a devastating impact on Major Sloan and the people of the Corps. Pray for them.

5.Pray for those in need of God’s healing touch; L. facing divorce after 30 years of marriage; for J & S. after 14 years of marriage. 7.Pray for SA Social Service staff who bring comfort and hope to those who have lost jobs homes and hope in these troubled times. Give them Grace and wisdom!

June Requests

Praise the Lord that we are back safely from our two weeks furlough!

Our friend Jasiel T. (Stockton Corps Officer) loss her younger brother this past week. May the LORD continue to strengthen and comfort Jasiel and her family through this difficult time. The funeral was yesterday (June 26). Also: Please continue to pray for Jasiel's health.

Continue to lift the Red Shield up your prayer. Our Summer Day Camp is still going until August 6th. Each week, we have 45 kids coming. May the Lord use this time in a powerful way to speak to each kid (may the Word that they hear from Chapel time be that seed to sprout and grow in their lives...ultimatly coming to the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ). Please pray for our staff and volunteers as well!

Kathy

Please continue to keep Kathy in your prayers. She went to the hospital today for a checkup, and the Doctors admitted her. She has been using a wheelchair. May the Lord strengthen her mom as she continues to help her during this difficult time. May the Lord's healing hand be upon Kathy's health.

Burks Family

Please lift up the Burks family in your prayers. One of their family members (relatives) passed away. May the Lord strenghthen this family through this difficult time! May God's peace and strength be upon them!
