Wayne M. - Treatment/Eye

I wanted to let everyone know that I am starting radiation this summer. They suspect the tumor is causing me to lose the vision in my right eye. I got fit for my "mask" yesterday. Please pray for me. I am anxious about the possible side effects. Loss of short term memory, double vision, etc. Thank you for the prayers that have already come my way!

Shine through us so they will see your love and give us the correct words so that they may see you in us. Lord I want to also thank you for your forgiveness. Many times I have wondered why you have forgiven me. But then I realize that this is what you do to show us your love. Forgiving us of our sinful nature time after time. § Field changes in 2024.

§ The parliamentary election which is going to be held in various states. In Tamil Nadu the election will be held on 19th April 2024. Pray for a peaceful election process.

§ After COVID many of the officers are suffering from different kind of sickness. We need your fervent prayer support for good health for all officers (active & retired) and soldiers of the territory.

Brazil Flood

At least 29 people have been killed and a further 60 are missing as heavy rain and flooding hit the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul this week.

The local government has declared a state of calamity in areas where more than 67,000 people in nearly 150 municipalities are impacted. Almost 10,000 have been displaced and more than 4,500 are in temporary shelters, the civil defense said.

Good morning!  Just a quick note from me to let you know that the Moves bulletin will be posted today at 11:30am on The Landing.

 

For those of you who we haven’t talked to, we are happy to confirm that you are staying for another year in your appointment and Mary and I are so blessed to continue serving with you here in the Golden State Division.  

 

Thank you for your faithful and committed service to God through The Salvation Army.  We are proud of you and grateful for the people you are.

 

We are always available if you need to talk or if we can help or pray for you in any way.  Don’t hesitate to text us and ask for a time to chat.

 

Please pray for those officers and families who will be moving and the corps and appointments that will experience a transition.

Regina S. - Moves

Moves were announced today and as you see The Shulls are on the list! Well Sd Citadel/Door of Hope you will always have my heart! What a true blessing it has been for us to minister at our Home Corps these past 5 years. And to serve alongside such a faithful congregation who were called to make a tough move but who continues to trust in what God has for them on the Door of Hope Campus! The wonderful news is that we will still be in the Southern California Division heading North to Riverside California! So it won’t be goodbye 😊! Keep these two ministries in your prayers and our Family too as we prepare for what God has for us!

Father God Lord Jesus good morning. Today is the day that the USA western territory moves come out. Lord I pray for all of the officers on the list thier families thier congregations that you would be with them during this transition time and that all will fall into place for your kingdoms sake. Lord many people don’t understand why these things happen but sometimes it’s necessary for growth in all aspects. May your kingdom come and you will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Amen!!

Teresa R. - Husband's Health

As many of you know, back at the end of November, Chuck went into multiple seizures in a row and was hospitalized for 3 days. It happened as he was starting to feel better after having covid. We are 5 months in. Over the course of the last 5 months, Chuck and I have met with the neurologist PA-C twice- once to change medication. She had said he will likely have to be on medication for at least 2 years. 

Yesterday, we met with the neurologist heading his case. We got some really good news! He said that given the fact that 1) he has no new seizure activity 2) no past seizures and 3) he had covid at the onset of seizures that it is unlikely that he will have anymore seizures and we than discussed coming off the medication right around the 6 month mark. Chuck decided that he wants to come off the medication. He will start cutting down on his meds on May 20th. 

In the unlikely event that he has another seizure, he agreed to go back on medication (just not keppra) and staying on it as he will officially be diagnosed with epilepsy.
