Bob Louangamath Promoted to Glory Kroc Tribute

It is with great sadness that we share with you the recent passing of Major Bob Louangamath, the Administrator and Corps Officer/Pastor at The Kroc Center.
Major Bob and his wife, Major Joanne, came to serve at The Kroc Center in July of 2021. In that short time, the Majors became beloved by members and staff alike for their grace, sensitivity, and kindness toward all they met.

Major Bob was a warm-hearted, funny soul, and all of us at The Kroc Center are mourning his passing. He was a man of God, a loving husband and father of two girls, a leader and helper in his community, and a friend to everyone he met. He could make anyone feel appreciated, and loved getting to know people. His energy rarely ran out, and when he wasn’t problem-solving and socializing in The Kroc Center, he put the same excitement into hobbies like woodworking, gardening, cooking and electronics.

One of his favorite stories to share was how, when he was a child immigrating to the United States, his family received a food box, and he was given a jacket by The Salvation Army. He never forgot this kindness and went on to serve as an officer in The Salvation Army for 28 years, providing hope and faith to communities in California and Oregon including Stockton, Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, Whittier, Santa Fe Springs, Los Angeles, Santa Maria, Happy Valley, Rancho Palos Verdes, and in Suisun City serving Solano County.

Major Bob received his ultimate healing, surrounded by family and friends, sharing scripture, and singing praise; a final promotion to glory.

Major Joanne and the girls are so thankful for their Army family, and the prayers, texts, and love during Major Bob’s brief illness. They will continue to need our prayers and support in the days and months ahead.

John 11:25-26
Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die.”

Rachel G. - Eye Healing

It has now been 6 months that I was diagnosed with OM. I have had a busy 6 months, with PET scans 2 surgeries, 24/7 radiation for a week, blood tests, full body exam for skin cancer.  And a Photo Dynamic Therapy.

During this month God has been present. It has not been easy, but so many people have kept me in prayer and has been present in my life to help.

I don't know the future, this Friday, I need an ultrasound on my liver. At the end of the month my tumor will be measured again. In the middle of September, another MRI and chest xray servalance. I was overwhelmed medically on Friday but God continues to comfort me through people.

My eye, at times, has very limited vision, like today. At times it does better. It continues to open more. the flashes are worse since my last procedure, I believe thatvis good. I think that as the tumor shrinks fluid leaks out and affects the cones and rods in my eye. This then creates the flashes when light lands on them. I also seem ti be more tired. Saturday. I just rested and then I feel lazy. Pray that I can just be still. I have to keep reminding myself that my body continues to fight the cancer in my eye.

God is still God, and he continues to give me strength.

Ann S. - Mom PTG

Sometimes the Lord takes us on long journeys we didn't expect.  Four years ago I came Stateside to bury my mother who was not suppose to live through the weekend. She recovered. Thus began my caregiver journey.  She has almost passed and come back multiple times in that time span and we dubbed her the "Come-Back Queen". Yesterday she quietly and peacefully slipped into heaven where she has longed desperately to be.  So grateful the Lord gave me this time with her.  And if you ever wonder if the Lord's promise to give "back the years the locusts ate up" will be kept.  I can answer resoundingly, YES He does -  far, more abundantly, beyond all you can ask or think!  Thank you  to all that have prayed and encouraged my mom, my sister, Steve and myself along this journey. Tom, my brother, has also been a constant encourager though not able to be with us in person. We rejoice for Mom, will miss her so very, much and now turn our heads to see what the next leg of this amazing walk with the Father has in store for us.  Love and thanks to each of you!
