Thanksgiving @ the Convention

Please continue to lift up all the staff and volunteers that will be helping tomorrow for the Thanksgiving Dinner at the Convention Center. May the Lord bless this time, and all the people who enters to partake! May God get all the honor and Glory!

CALL TO PRAYER!

The Salvation Army Call to Prayer for Sunday November 29, 2009.

This week begins with the First Sunday in Advent. In Churches around the world and in Salvation Army Corps we will be celebrating The Answer to prayer of centuries before of prayer for The Messiah. For the next four Sundays of Advent, our prayers will be focused on the glorious gift that God sent, His Own Son, our Savior, Jesus.

“Dear Lord, Your gifts are greater than I can imagine. May I live each day with thanksgiving in my heart and praise on my lips. Thank you for the gift of Your Son and for the promise of eternal life. Let me share the joyous news of Jesus Christ and let my life be a testimony to His love and to His grace. Amen.

1.Pray for your officer or pastor. Give them your support and encouragement and tell them how grateful you are for them and their ministry

2.Pray for our country and for our President right now! As the Lord has promised, prayer will transform our nation by transforming individual lives, one heart at a time.

3.Pray for our Military and their families. Pray that our troops will be encouraged by knowing our prayer for them. Protect them from harm. Protect them and comfort their families.

4.Pray for Salvation Army leaders around the world: General and Commissioner Clifton, Commissioner and Mrs. Gaither; every International and Territorial leader, and that the spirit of Christ will prevail. Pray for our Western Territory’s leaders; Commissioner & Mrs. Swyers, Colonel & Mrs. Harfoot, the THQ Cabinet, staff, Divisional Leaders and staff, ARC and Corps Officers. And pray for those who are under farewell orders to take up new appointments this year.

5.Pray for: God’s healing for; Major Dennis Trimmer’s foot problem require 3 months to one year of wheel chair use. Pray for his healing and that family and staff will be supported during the heavy Christmas season; Major Leticia Saunders, in hospital, Rose Edel 78 years old facing laparoscopic back surgery” (from Katherine B.); for Devon “Kaipo” Yamada in hospital with an infection; Kwai Gasper, in ICU; for Tylene Paia Mala, asking prayer for family needs; Major Cheryl Lo healing of a broken shoulder Capt Robin Bottjen, healing after surgery; Envoy Damaris, medical tests; Noah Jeremy (Philippines) 8 months old, healing after major surgery; Major Angie Medina, medical tests; for Shirley Cota, arthritis; for Wayne, son of Viola, an inoperable tumor; Samantha & Guy; Maria Coreas; Majors Gil and Elvia Roman; Esther J, surgery; for Hope Tregaro, of Monrovia; Samantha, surgery; Marie Henderson, in hospital: Captain Gina Halverson; Major Jennifer Bates, back surgery; Aubree, brain lesions; April, an unknown virus; for James Shull; for Kendra Holly’s father; for Sheryl Callahan’s mother, Malva Farrell; for Bunny Rocha, heart surgery; for Virginia Nieto; for Juanita, daughter of Captain Stephanie Dennis; Captain Michael Johnson; staph infection; Major Joe Thompson; Bill and Carol.

6.Pray for: Captain Vera Villanea undergoing testing in hospital; for Susan Riley’s father, relief from pain; Morene Klotz, mother of Marlene Klotz-Collins recovering from major brain surgery; Fritz Salazar’s (Phoenix ARC), mother, very ill and in need of a heart transplant, Captain Vicki Jackson, surgery; Yvonne’s son-in-law back pain; Paul Wolkersdorfer of Long Beach, CA, broken arm; Alicia, enlarged heart; Burt Stack, hospice care; for Mike and Lisa Schneider; the Humes family; Jeanie Lucas, Dick Wiseman, Lorin & Millie Corlis; for Easter Soli, for Ann; John Boner, Phoenix, in hospital.

Denver Red Shield Christmas Effort

Please continue to lift up in your prayers all the staff, volunteers, and kettle workers during this Christmas season! May the Lord bless us as we bless others! May the Lord keep everyone safe! May everything that we say and do give God all the Glory and Honor!

TSA Events This Week

Please lift up The Salvation Army staff and volunteers as they coordinate events and serve people this week. The Salvation Army will be present at the Colorado Avalanche and the Denver Nuggets games this week. On Thanksgiving, there will be a Thanksgiving Dinner for the 'whosoever' at the Convention Center. May the Lord guide everyone who is helping and bless those who come to partake!

Health Concerns at the Red Shield

Please pray for our Administrative Assistant, Ms. Kathy D. May the Lord strengthen and heal her during this difficult time as she is sick and dealing with her health. May the Lord give her mom (Barbara) extra measure of His Grace and strength to support her during this time.

Please pray for our Cook Carol's husband, as he is in the hospital. May the Lord be with him and heal him. May God give Carol and her kids comfort and strength to go through this time. May the Lord be with this family! May His presence shine upon them!

Please continue to pray for our Finance Teacher, Mrs. Jackson. May the Lord continue to be with Mrs. Jackson and continue to strengten her body. May His peace be upon her during this difficult time in her life. May the Lord give her husband (Thomas) the strength to be her support.

Denver Red Shield Dedication

Please pray for the next chapter of how the Denver Red Shield is going to impact its community. Pray specifically for the year 2010 programming. Pray also for the Dedication Service that will be held on Nov. 15th (2 days from now). May the Lord bless this time. To God be the glory for His Provision in completing the Red Shield Renovation! May everything that goes on this facility give God all the glory and honor!

Doll Tea Fundraising

Please continue to pray for The Salvation Army Women's Auxillary Doll Tea Pary. Pray for the success of it, that funds will be raised! Pray for strength and wisdom for all involved! May the Lord use the funds raised to help and touch lives, and may people give God all the Glory!

CALL TO PRAYER!

The Salvation Army Call to Prayer line for October 22, 2009:

1.Pray for President Obama and His Administration. Pray that the President and his advisors will have discernment and wisdom in their planning for further economic recovery.

2.Pray for our Congressional Members. Pray for oversight of the Congress that they may deal wisely with the economic issues they face.

3.Pray for Members of the Judiciary. Pray that the court will seek wisdom in their focus on issues of national security.

4.The War. Pray for the morale of the American and NATO military, from the highest generals to the lowest soldiers. Keep them safe

5.Terrorism. Pray that God would break the strongholds of radical Islam wherever they exist.

6.The Economy. Pray for those who administer America’s economy, whether in government, in banking institutions, or on Wall Street.

7.Israel and the Middle East. Pray for the people living in Israel and the Gaza strip, as they try to live “normally” amidst ongoing violence..

8.Health Care. Pray for the people in the Centers for Disease Control and the companies manufacturing the H1N1 vaccine that they will discern the best means of more rapid delivery.

9.Pray for our Military and their families. Pray that they will be protected from harm. Protect them and comfort their families. Continue to pray for PFC Bergdahl being held captive by Taliban in Afghanistan.
