"Family and Friends,

I continue to ask for your prayers, three weeks ago I was hit with the news of having Stage 5 Renal Failure. This news has been a major setback for my entire family and friends (to whom I’m so grateful for). The last two years have been very difficult for me, from leaving something I loved to not knowing if I’m going live or die, I’ve asked God why is this happening. On the positive and bright side Micah is doing well and so is Joanne. I don’t understand God and question things all the time but if you will remember me in your thoughts and prayers and well wishes I would appreciate it! I start treatment tomorrow."

"Asking for prayer for my daughter Meaghan P. She started getting really sick last night and made an appointmemt at Urgent Care for after church today. While I was at church, she was having trouble breathing, so as sick as she was, she got herself and the baby to Urgent Care. They gave her a breathing treatment and did chest x-rays. They sent her home with an inhaler, antibiotics and a diagnosis of the beginning of pneumonia. She's wheezing so bad tonight it sounds like a quiet whistle when she exhales! She really needs prayer!"

"I had a pretty hard morning. But I'm just gonna sit here and pray a little while and then I'll get up and do something. I slept in too late so I did not make in town to my appointment.  No big deal. I just seem to get upset and disappointed about things quickly and easily these days. 

Wanted to share something that is positive about myself.

I've been realizing since I had to go on sickleave and then retire early that I do have a very caring heart and I care about people everywhere I go. I'm not a counselor I'm not a doctor and now I'm not even to Pastor anymore although I'll always kind of be a pastor, but one thing I'm learning that really big because I've got to stop trying to, "fix things" for people"

But I have got to start listening better and just letting know that I'm hearing them and what they're saying is, "resonating with me" I'm starting to realize this helps people so much just to have somebody to hear them when you're hurting when they're scared, when you're just needing another human being to care and listen 👂

So pray for me that I will continue to find good things to do as a volunteer to just listen and care about people wherever I am. Please pray for more self-discipline for me as I learn to stop checking on everybody in the congregation where I was pastoring here at the Hot Springs Salvation Army.

Pray that I will continue to move out into new life for myself. and bring others into that new life with me. 

Challenging you all today to not be too busy to be human. Care about your family and friends and those that God puts in your path."

Marquis Family Update

Hi, all!  I love, love, love all the family and friends we have engaged in our lives.  We are very blessed to have so many people praying for us.  We have been getting a lot of questions and I wanted to take the time to provide an update.  I’ll try to keep it short and sweet.  Here we go:

•   We are excited to announce that we will be having a baby boy.  We have picked the name Brady Michael.

•   Brady is doing very well.  He is a healthy, active little guy.  He is measuring at about the 65th percentile and the doctor says he’s big in all the “right ways” (big head, long arms and legs).  Please pray that he continues to be healthy as he grows and develops over the last couple months.

•   We have a single umbilical artery, but it is isolated (no other impacts to his health).

•   I have diabetes and a blood clotting disorder, but am managing it well.  The big concern now is preeclampsia (apparently, I have every risk factor).  The key is keeping my blood pressure down.  Please pray that he doesn’t come early and we (Brady and I) stay healthy until he’s ready.  

•   Speaking of ready, I am technically due on April 30th.  As long as everything is going well, I will have a planned C-section on Week 38 or 39.  That will likely be the week of April 16th. 

•   We don’t expect gifts, but I have been asked.  We did get rid of all the baby stuff and are starting from scratch.  We are registered on Amazon.com.  Here is the link....

Personally, this pregnancy is so different from Aiden.  I have started to truly enjoy this pregnancy.  I can’t wait to meet our precious boy.  We can’t even express how happy we are!  We have prayed for a family for years, but would have never even imagined we would be here today.  Thank you all!!

"Found out today who my kidney donor was. I’m overcome with so many emotions at the moment. Friends, I could really use your prayers to be able to adequately express both my sorrow to the donor’s family’s very unfortunate loss and my gratitude for his willingness to give life in chance of him losing his. I am going to meet them early next month and I am very nervous. Again, just lift me and my family up in prayer please? Thanks!!"
