Neil Navarro and Family

Dear Torrance Family and Friends, Once again, thank you so much for your continued prayerful support as well as your love and care shown to the Navarro Family with your kind gestures and intentional help during this time. We trust and believe that your prayers have uplifted Captain Neil and that a miracle will happen! As promised here is a second update and reasons to pray on behalf of Navarro Family…. From Captain Neil himself! UPDATE: On Monday July 2, Captain Neil wrote: “Last week was a good week for me- I felt that the side effects of the chemo were minimal and I could possibly be able to be more mobile. Today (Monday July 2, 2012) , I started my second round of chemo and I suspect it will remain the same. So far I am feeling well but it should hit me in 2-3 days from today” PRAYER REQUEST: I (Neil) would like to ask for the following prayers: 1) That this particular chemo is the right one- the doctor senses that it is working due to the decrease of pain I am experiencing. But CT scan is not for another 3 weeks. 2) The oncologist tested the biopsy sample and found it to be positive in matching a (new) different or (compatible) additional treatment that will be good for my type of cancer. Due to the type of treatment we are just waiting for approval from the insurance. I believe that this is another answer to prayer. 3) Pray that I can find a reasonable schedule possibly get back to work... while pacing myself. Thanks so much for all the support. Words cannot really express how blessed we are because of all of you - Neil LET’S CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR: A Miracle to be done in the life of Neil and that it would manifest in healing for his body, healing for the family, healing for the corps family and healing for the community of believers. Let’s pray for the Torrance Corps and the ministry of the Officers at this time. Let’s pray for the doctors, nurses, and professionals that are going to be caring for Captain Neil. We specially would like to pray for Captain Rubina as she takes care of her husband. May the Lord give her physical strength, wisdom and patience as Capt. Neil starts chemo – and as she cares for the rest of the family. Pray for the Captain’s family as they come in the next weeks to support the Navarro’s. Let’s also pray for the children: Abby (Abigail) Hannah Lizzy (Elizabeth) Zeek (Ezekiel) The Navarro’s are encouraged by your text messages and emails of support. They are listening to your voice messages – but it’s hard to answer everyone! Keep the encouraging words coming! If you would like to mail a card with encouragement to Captains Neil and Rubina, or to their children: Abby, Hanna, Lizzy or Zeek, please send it to their home address: 20605 Victor Street Torrance, CA 90503-2502 Thank you so much for your help in helping us handle this with the highest level of sensitivity, we want to give the Navarro’s the opportunity to deal with this in their time and in their own way, we are still not sure how much or how little the children have been told so it is super important that we continue keep this off of the social media outlets, i.e. facebook, twitter, etc. - If you think anyone would like to be added to this email list, please let Major Eloisa or Pili know… we need prayer warriors! The blessing is falling on the Torrance Corps! Let’s continue to pray for God’s amazing grace to be manifested in the life of Captain Neil, and in the Torrance Family. On behalf of Major Eloisa Martin, Many blessings to you today! Pili Martinez Moore Territorial Latino Corps Ministries Specialist Multicultural Department - Western Territory, USA
