Rich's Health

This is my husband Rich...he is actually smiling for me when I took this picture of him today...I normally don’t share these kinds of things on FB...but it is time to do so!  This picture was taken at Cancer Care Northwest where he is receiving treatments for tonsil cancer.  It was diagnosed in April after a swollen lymph node on the left side of his neck that wasn’t going away...We are approaching week #5 of radiation and chemotherapy for him.  The good news is that it is Stage 1...treatable and curable and was found in time.  One thing I have learned on this journey of cancer is that it does not pick and choose who gets it...there have been to put it lightly...some “crappy” days for Rich!  As we progress onto 3 more weeks of treatments, it gets more intense...fatigue sets into overdrive..not wanting to eat anything... he will be getting a feeding tube this week...more medication everyday... losing weight...not so much fun!  Rich has had a great attitude and believe me everyday is a new day....and a struggle at times...but he knows where his faith and trust is...in Jesus!  Without him in the midst of all this...would quite frankly be impossible!  While reading my devotional Streams In The Desert, I came across this passage...”The path of faith is one of sorrow and joy, suffering and healing comfort, tears and smiles, trials and victories, conflicts and triumphs, and also hardships, dangers, beatings, persecutions, misunderstanding, trouble, and distress.  Yet “in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us”.  Romans 8:37... yes that is how much Jesus loves us...even during the storms in our lives.  Rich and I keep praising God through the great times and the not so great times as we go through this together with Jesus by our side!  When the world looks bleak and we aren’t sure what is going to happen from one day to the next in our broken world that we live in...trust in the one who loves you and died on the cross for you...and most of all LOVE one another and don’t ever take anything for granted...especially those you love!  Our families have been there 200% for us through this difficult time along with our many friends...and church family...thank you for walking with us ....the prayers are what count the most...and God is answering them in little and big ways!  Rich has the best Doctors and the best medical staff and are so thankful for that...the cancer nurses are phenomenal...and the other cancer patients we have met while on this journey and shared stories are so uplifting to us!  So please continue to pray for Rich and his recovery in healing at this time!  Remember Jesus is there for you every single day..he will get you through no matter what...and most of all love one another and be kind...it truly goes along way! ❤️πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™ŒπŸΌ✝️
