"Melody received word this morning that her older brother Malcomb passed away very unexpectedly. She is understandably heartbroken and would appreciate our prayers as she travels to be with her family.
As she heads to Alabama, we pray that the she feels the presence of the Lord as a strong tower, and that as she runs into it, she feels safe ( Proverbs 18:10)."

Attack on Salvation Outpost - 4 PTG
WITH great sadness, The Salvation Army confirms that an attack upon the Lewono Lembantongoa Outpost, Indonesia, on Friday 27 November 2020 has claimed the lives of four members. A Salvation Army outpost is a locality in which Army work is carried out and where it is hoped a society or corps will eventually develop.
Lewono Lembantongoa is in a very rural area of Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi, situated on the edge of the Indonesian rainforest. During the morning of 27 November, the community was subjected to a savage attack, during which The Salvation Army’s building was burned down along with six homes of members. Sadly, four members of the outpost were killed.
Major Erik Kape (Divisional Commander, East Palu) and colleague officers acted immediately to support the local leaders, coordinating with police and with government officials of the Sigi Regency and Central Sulawesi Province who are increasing protection for the villages in the area and investigating the incident.
In a press statement released across Indonesia, The Salvation Army invites all churches and religious associations – along with community members – to support each other vigilantly in these days, enhancing security through strong communication networks across the villages of the area.
Territorial Commander for Indonesia, Colonel Yusak Tampai, urges Salvationists in the region to ‘remain calm but alert and careful, spreading a strong message of hope and uniting in prayer to strengthen each other’. Throughout Indonesia on Sunday 29 November, Salvationists are called to observe a three-minute silence and to pray for grieving families and congregations, asking for God’s peace to be poured upon the region. Some will be gathered for public worship while others are confined to home due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Noting that The Salvation Army serves in 131 countries and that the world continues to convulse with disturbing levels of violence affecting many of its people, General Brian Peddle, international leader of The Salvation Army, denounces any such acts. 'Throughout all aspects of Salvation Army ministry and influence we work for peace,' he says.
'We find the news from Lembantongoa greatly disturbing. Our hearts go out to our people who have been victims of evil, and to the families of those whose faith have caused such harm. I call upon all Salvationists to pray for each person who has been affected, for the continuing witness of our people, and for healing in the communities. I ask our global community to join us in this prayer, and believe that as peace finds its place, evil will be defeated.
'As General, I assure our people in Indonesia of our deep love and prayers,' he concludes.
Messages of support and unity have been received from Indonesian church leaders. The Communion of Churches in Indonesia is inviting Christian families in Indonesia to light a candle at the beginning of Advent this Sunday as a symbol of the continuing hope found in Christ. The Salvation Army is a significant church presence in Indonesia, with more than 60,000 members.
The Salvation Army in Indonesia values this unity from fellow Christians and greatly welcomes prayer support from Salvationists worldwide.

Gratitude Day 15: a life lesson. In October 2018, I noticed that I wasn’t doing great. I was struggling, but convinced myself that I could handle it. A year later, October 2019, this first picture was taken. I look a mess and to be honest I was a mess a year ago. I had an undiagnosed mental health disorder, physical symptoms that showed up because of it that caused interruptions in my daily life, living on 2-4 hours of sleep a night for most my life, and not wanting to be around my family because I couldn’t stand the noise. I had anxiety attacks on the regular and knew that I couldn’t keep living like this. So, on my birthday in January, I took myself to the doctor and asked for help. The 2nd picture is me in October 2020. Please know, I am still a mess, but a mess that now has help. I couldn’t imagine going through 2020 without it. And for those struggling, it’s okay to ask for help, it doesn’t make you weak or less than. This is something that I continue to learn. And thank you to those who have encouraged me to take that step.

Jessica C. - Step Brother PTG
To my Army family,
My mom is so humbled that my “employer and church” honor her for being my mom. She is amazed that being a Silverstar mom, DHQ sends her cards on her birthday and remembers her on some holidays too. I am hoping some more people can continue to bless my mom and stepdad during this painful time. On Saturday, November 7th, my stepbrother, Micah drowned while on vacation in a small village in southern Mexico. He was 38. My parents are devastated, not to mention the difficulty of navigating how to get his body back to San Diego and all the COVID precautions.
If people want to send my parents some cards I know they would appreciate it.

Susan S was released from the hospital to Autumn Care Center on October 29, 2020. She has been in a private room where her healing and physical therapy are taking place. It is hoped that she will be able to move to a room where she can get more intense physical therapy.
Her husband and children have had to just visit her through the closed window in her room, but her spirits are high.
Please continue to keep Susan and Les and their family in your prayers.

Team Cascade,
Captain Kristy’s father has been struggling a bit with his health and is going in for some significant diagnostic tests on Tuesday. Following this, the doctors will have a much better plan for treatment.
Captain Kristy is understandably concerned and would appreciate the prayer support around her, her Dad Leroy Shelton, and the entire family. She will be traveling to Tucson so prayers for Captain Brent and the boys are also appreciated. We believe that “my God will meet ALL your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19
God bless each of you today!

Portland Tabernacle/ Leaders & People
There are times when change needs to happen. This is the situation with the Portland Tabernacle now.
Some of you have seen the Facebook postings from last night that referenced the “end of an era” at the Tab. It is true that there is an end of an era on Sandy Blvd but the ministry is alive and well! Captains Mike and Jillian O’Brien led a wonderful service of celebration yesterday and next week will kick off their transitional year or so at the Clackamas Ministry Center at DHQ. This will allow us the time to identify the right location for a new ministry in Clackamas County.
Please pray for the O’Briens as they lead this temporary time of change and growth. They have identified several focus groups that are allowing the corps family to speak into the future ministry that will develop as a result of this geographical change.
Thank you for your interest and your partnership in prayer for the new expression of ministry that is being birthed!
God bless you today!

Team Cascade:
Lt. Ernie’s mother has experienced a serious medical episode in Pocatello and is undergoing treatment currently.
He has shared this and would appreciate the prayer support of his Army family. We want to live out the words of James 4:14-15a, “Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up.”
Thank you for faithful prayers for our fellow officers.
God bless each of you!

Good Evening Everyone,
Isaiah 12:2 reminds us, “Indeed, God is my salvation; I will trust Him and not be afraid, for Yah, the Lord, is my strength and my song. He has become my salvation.”
If you would like to join me in prayer, please do!
Dear God in Heaven, we love You.
We continue to lift up the people and the places devastated by these fires. May they find the food, shelter, help, and protection they need. Point them in the direction they need to go to begin their recovery. Send the people and the resources they need to climb out of the ashes. Give them the determination, courage, strength, and hope to find their way to safety and recovery.
We ask Your protection over the many people and agencies who stand to assist. Lord, they are working hard to serve those affected by both the fires and the virus. We are thankful for their dedication and hard work. Give them what they need to serve their neighbors. Give them the strength to meet the needs of so many. Give them the rest and rejuvenation required to keep themselves healthy and well. Lord, they may not hear this prayer, but let them know how thankful we are for what they do to show their love for You and their love for others.
Lord, let the flames be extinguished and may the land heal. Let the smoke clear and the blue skies return. Let the virus end and health return. Let the people heal and praise Your name.
We pray and ask these things tonight because You are our salvation, because we trust in You, and because You are our strength.
Amen.
God Bless,
Captain Raymond D.

Raymond D. - Division / Fire
Greetings All,
I just would like to take a moment this morning to pray about the fires going on in the division:
Lord, we love You. We lift up the people affected by the fires that are raging throughout the division and specially in Oregon. From the very south of the division to the boarder with Washington, from the coast all the way through to Idaho, the fires burn and the smoke covers us. People are having to evacuate their homes. Lord, lives have been lost, homes and property burned, pets and animals are gone. So many thousands of us are affected… You know each of us by name and are Your children. Wrap Your arms of protection around us and bring us to safety.
We ask that You protect the first responders who are fighting these fires, carrying out the rescues of those endangered, and planning and carrying out the response. Give them wisdom, understanding, knowledge, and the courage they need to carry out these dangerous and heroic deeds. Thank You for them and provide the resources needed during these battles.
Lord, we are also thankful for the many agencies that have come together to care for those who are affected. The shelter, food, spiritual care, and love they provide is so important right now. We think of the Salvation Army officers, employees, and volunteers who are on the front lines, serving those in need… serving You. Give them all they need to carry out their work, including the safety and rest they need during this most difficult of times.
We pray for an end to the fires, the protection of the people, and that through all of this, You may be glorified.
In Your precious name we pray.
Amen.
Psalm 56: 3-4a tells us, “When I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not fear.”
God Bless,
Captain Raymond D.

Pray for Pastor John Cao Release
Free Christian Pastor John Cao
Christian Pastor John Cao – a U.S. permanent resident – has been wrongfully convicted and sentenced in China.
After decades working in China and Burma (Myanmar), providing for the poor, sharing the love of Christ, and establishing schools for impoverished children, Pastor John was arrested and imprisoned by Chinese authorities as part of their increased crackdown on Christian pastors.
Pastor John’s wife and 2 sons (all U.S. citizens from North Carolina) desperately want their father released and returned home to America.
Pastor John has been unjustly targeted for his Christian faith and sentenced to seven years in prison.
He’s been imprisoned since March 2017. His health is deteriorating, and he’s lost over 50 pounds. He’s forced to share a cell with a dozen inmates and only 1 bed.
We're representing Pastor John's family, aggressively working internationally for his ultimate freedom. We’ve mobilized our resources across the globe and are urging China to release Pastor John and allow him to come home to the United States to be reunited with his wife and kids.
