TSA Western Territory Prayer Requests

CALL TO PRAYER
The Salvation Army Call to Prayer line for August 21, 2008. Please pray for the following prayer needs this week:

1. The floods in Florida have been described as, “catastrophic”. Pray for those who have lost their homes to the flooding. Pray for the Salvation Army volunteers and other disaster workers seeking to bring relief to the victims.

2. Pray for the officers and Salvationists in Georgia who have been caught up in the recent attacks by Russia. Pray for peace and the prompt withdrawal of the Russian troops. May there be a prompt end to the conflict and that aid will be given quickly to those affected. Captain Gia Salarishvili writes to ask for prayer for he , his wife, Captain Eka Tikaradze and their two daughters; Mamuka Abkhasava and his children, Kete andLuka; Captain Gia Mchedlishvili; Captan Data Darshiashvili and his wife and baby; Dato Chidhinadze and his wife and children; Dato Putkaradze; Eka Moseshvili; and all the others: Misha; Eduard; Dodo; Irakli; Zvidi; Salome; Nino; Marina; Sophia; Khakha; Achiko; Armen; Malkhalzi; Zub; and others.

3. Pray for President and Mrs. Bush as they work out a peace agreement and withdrawal of our troops from Iraq.

4. Pray for our troops as they serve at home and abroad. Pray for their well-being and for God’s continual protection and care. Pray for their families and loved ones.
5. Pray for the coming Democratic National Convention beginning 8/25 in Denver. Pray for God’s protection, wisdom, integrity, and that good will and peace will govern the entire week.

6. Pray for the two Presidential candidates, John McCain and Barack Obama. May God give them wisdom and grace for their campaigns. 7. Pray for our Salvation Army leaders: General Shaw Clifton, Commissioner Helen Clifton, Commissioners Israel and Eva Gaither, Commissioners Philip and Pat Swyers, Lt. Colonels William and Susan Harfoot, the THQ Cabinet and staff, and each Divisional Leader.

8. Pray for Salvation Army Officers and laymen serving outside of their home Territory. Pray that God will use them to bring glory and hope for the people they serve.

9. Pray for the Cadets of the Prayer Warriors Session who enter the Training School this week to follow God’s Call for full-time service as Salvation Army officers!

10. Pray for the protection of the thousands of innocent children living in troubled parts of the world. Pray for the victims of human trafficking and the sex trade in the world.

11. Pray the following who are in need our prayers: Major Marilyn Gregory, recovering from surgery; Commissioner David Edwards, recovering from surgery; Mrs. Brigadier Eloise Sloan; Mrs. Major Edna Steinhauer, in hospital in Mesa, AZ; Shirley Prince, a bad fall; Carolyn; Jon Hendry; Envoy James Mertz; Glen Lycan; Major Shirley White; Isobel Doctor; Luetta Pedersen; Tanner; Ken Scheline; for Major Tom Elliott; for Major Dee Webb; for Raquel; Marvinne; Ralph Krause; Captain Jack Smith’s mother, a blood infection; Major Verna Hughes, healing; Joe Baunoch, back surgery; Cameron Helms, Amy Hennessey, and for Leigh Ann.

12. Kiki writes from Greece asking for prayer for herself and her friend, Elyse. Pray for: Jim and Susan Spencer; Major Jerold Forney; Brigadier Isabelle Boyington; Majors Don and Pearl Pack; Marie Desiderio; 9 year old Ruben Solano, brain tumor; Brigadier Ben Acosta; Major Vera Elliot; Majors Don and Pearl Pack; Major Sherry McWhorter; A/Captain Elsie Lantz; Mrs. Major Manuela Garza; for Debbie and her family.

13. Pray for the beneficiaries and clients of our Social Service Programs that they will experience God’s Grace and healing. Pray for: Yvonne, hip fracture; Mimi; Donald and Mary Morrell; Robin Bailey; Barbara Garrison; Captain Dana Johnson; Major Charles and Myrtle Griffin; Brigadier Margaret Laverty; Brigadier Martha Hansen; and other retired officers who have not been well.

14. Pray for those being treated for cancer: Captain Stephen Sutter, diagnosed with Melanoma; Major Sheila Bradley, being treated with a bone marrow transplant; and pray for her brother-in-law, Pat, who just found out that he has cancer; Randy Stillwell’s wife, Carolyn breast cancer; ,Jennie Torgeson’s daughter, Karen; Lynn Peterson, friend of Deb Oberhamer; B/M Jim Anderson; Mrs. Lt. Colonel Oloruntobe, of Lagos, Nigeria; Barbara’s granddaughter, breast cancer; Major Max Garza, lung cancer; Dale Hill Jr., brain tumor; Colonel Diane Hogan; Lt. Colonel April Strickland; David; Karen Imai; Major Dallas Pedersen; Eileen O'Brien; Jacob Galland; Major Bill Dickinson; Mrs. Captain Sylvia Waldron; Dick Youngworth; Sue Ellen's Mom; for Dick Wiseman; and others. Pray for faith, good medical care; and healing miracles!

15. Pray for the family and friends of those recently Promoted to Glory; Major Pam Gardner in the passing of her father, Dr. Stanley Bjornson; Captain Kitty Granat bereaved of her mother, Mrs. Joy Lui; Art Baker, musical leader in Southern California for many years; for Tracy in the loss of her husband, Travis, in a motorcycle accident. May God give His comforting presence to each family member and loved one.
