Prayer Request List-January 23, 2025
Major Shari Fowler-Please pray for God’s continued guidance and vision for the SW Division; pray for the safety & health of our people.
Pray for creative and new ways of outreach to youth & families in our corps and social ministries.
Pray as we enter a season of visits and reviews to assess the health and mission of our ministries, that God will give insight and direction, that he would foster open conversation that strengthens and encourages, and that the time spent will strengthen us in our commitment to Christ and His service.
Doris Hall-Please pray with me for: my family and I; families impacted by the wildfires; families impacted by the cold snap; employees and Officers.
Capt. Jennifer Butler-Please keep our grandson Jacob (9) in prayer. He was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes last week. Pray that they can get a good routine going for him and that he has a minimal number of issues.
Capt. Maryellen Walters- Please pray for my 6-year-old, Clara. She is having belly button hernia surgery on Friday. Please pray that her procedure goes well. She is very active & lively, so if you could also pray for her recovery, as resting and missing out on her extracurricular activities in the weeks to come will be hard for her.
Major Laura Sullivan-I will be having abdominal surgery to take care of adhesions and possibly to take out a section of my colon. This will take place next Wednesday on the 29th. It is an answer to a long journey of trying to find a cause for pain I have had in my abdomen for over a year.
Capt. David Kim-I would like to ask for your prayers for the Golden State Young Adult Retreat, which will be held in Lake Tahoe from January 24th to 26th, 2025. We are excited to share that 103 people are registered for this event—18 officers and 85 young adults!
Cadet Janae Ide-Please pray thanks for my family and God's healing of their bodies. Please pray for the healing of my eyes and body.
Gloria Irigoyen-Thank you for praying for a childhood friend named Amanda. She was sentenced to 14 years of incarceration yesterday, may she grow to learn God, and for her healing. Please pray extra for her 6 children who must face the challenges and aftermath of their mother's decision(s). The consolation is they are in safe and loving homes (they are separated 3 ways though). Please pray for their auntie Lisa who is heavily involved with the care of the children.
Please continue to pray for the fire affected families here in Southern California whose lives have been turned upside down and must start over. May they
navigate with strength and patience and hope; please pray for 2 of my dear friends who are feeling sad and scared for various reasons.
Major Amy Park- I am writing with the sad news that Jong-wha Yu, one of our faithful soldiers, passed away suddenly while on vacation in Hawaii. He had been a long-time member of our congregation and a devoted Salvation Army soldier. His sudden passing, due to a heart attack, has left his wife and family devastated, and our entire congregation is deeply mourning this loss.
I humbly ask for prayers for his family during this incredibly difficult time. Please pray for comfort and strength for his wife, children, and our congregation.
