11/22 Update

11/20 update

Thank you to all my FB family and friends for your prayers and support this past week. I was released to come home this evening but the road to recovery has only just begun. The cardiologists and electrophysiologists are baffled by some of what they’ve discovered but together they are putting together a plan for moving forward. Stints and bypass surgery are 

not an option due to the condition and placement of my arteries which are all blocked at between 70-100% and yet the damage to the heart could have, and should have, been much worse according to all the doctors. The Great Physician knows the way forward and we will rely on His guidance and direction for the medical team as we begin this journey together. Continued prayers are appreciated. Again, I’m in His hands. Blessings!

“Your arteries are obliterated” isn’t quite what you want to hear from the Cardiologist following four days of tests, numerous blood withdrawals, 24/7 heart monitoring, and an array of meds that would put skittles to shame in terms of colors. But at least I got to hear him make that comment!

For those that haven’t heard, my heart decided to take a break last Thursday night causing me to have a heart attack. Apparently it has been building up for many, many years according to all of the cardiologists. 

Waiting to hear what the next steps will be but guessing that running a marathon is out for now. Thankful for a great team in the Inova Alexandria Hospital and for the outpouring of love and prayers from my family and friends.

When all is said and done, “I’m in His hands, I’m in His hands, whatever the future holds, I’m in His hands”.
