TSA Western Prayer Requests

CALL TO PRAYER

The Salvation Army Call to Prayer line for November 6, 2008. Please pray for the following prayer needs this week:

1. Pray for President-Elect Barack Obama and Vice President-Elect Joseph Biden. This past Tuesday, in a history-making election, Americans have chosen the first African-American to hold the nation’s highest office. The whole world was watching as Americans, who, without violence or demonstration, have chosen those who will lead and guide our nation. Our faithful prayers for our new leaders are desperately needed. Their administration faces the challenges of a struggling economy, active wars against terrorism in Iraq and Afghanistan, and energy and environmental concerns.

We must take 1 Timothy 2:1-2 as our Biblical mandate. Salvationists Call to Prayer

2. President George W Bush. Continue to pray for President George W. and Laura Bush who will be concluding their service in these last 77 days of their administration. May God Bless them for their service, leadership, and give them good health and long life.

3. GOMA, CONGO. Congo’ warring rivals have erupted in violence in eastern Congo and thousands of refugees are in desperate condition. Over 250,000 people have been driven from their homes since the rebels began their offensive Over 60 percent of the refugees are children according to UNICEF. Continue to pray for the safety and protection of Salvationists. Pray for peace!

4. PRAY FOR OUR MILITARY. The war in Iraq and Afghanistan continues and our military men and women continue to faithfully serve the cause of freedom and justice around the world and at home. Pray for their protection and give thanks for their dedication and service. Pray for their families at home, who also sacrifice for peace. May they know God’s presence and love.
5. Salvationists serve in a world-wide ministry of hope and healing. Pray for every officer, soldier and leader. Bless General Shaw Clifton, Commissioner Helen Clifton, Commissioners Israel and Eva Gaither, Commissioners Philip and Pat Swyers, Lt. Colonels William and Susan Harfoot, the THQ Cabinet and staff, and each Divisional Leader and their staff. Pray too, for all our officers and laymen serving outside the USA Western Territory.

6. Pray for the innocent children living in troubled parts of the world who are victims of human trafficking and the sex trade

7. Pray for the following: Jacque Mulch, wife of Major Bill Mulch, who is extremely ill; Major Lauri Kirk, heart pacemaker, Major Lois Brooks, bad fall; Mrs. Lt. Colonel Gertrude Angel, in hospital with several infections; Captain Kevin Jackson, cervical spinal cord surgery; Major Lloyd Roberts, back surgery; Major Ron Toy, back problem; Walt Cisar, health issues; Herman Coutts, retired SA employee in ICU; Major John Cunard; Judi King, mother of Captain Raymond Erickson-King; Captain David Leonard, shoulder surgery; Captain Mark Nelson; Susan Riley; Floyd Persons’ 9 year old grandson, Nick, epilepsy; for Ann, financial need; for Pete, for Joshua and Sashal; for Beth; Major Vera Elliott; Harriet Bowen, of Great Falls; Virginia Nieto, Pasadena Tab, injuries from a fall and internal problems; Major Chris Morrow; the three year old daughter of UK Cadets, Catherine Anderson, leukemia; Rosemary Abernathy’s grandson, needing a heart transplant.

Pray for the following: LaMoyne Wood; Josephine Turpin, on life support, Eleanor; Scott Birks, serious head injury; Captain Lex Giron; Major Edna Steinhauer ; Carolyn; Envoy James Mertz; Major Shirley White; Isobel Doctor; Tanner; Ken Scheline; Major Dee Webb; for Raquel; Marvinne; Captain Jack Smith’s mother, a blood infection; Major Verna Hughes; Joe Baunoch; Cameron Helms; Amy Hennessey; Leigh Ann; the Pedersens, the Corliss family, Dick Wiseman, Glen Lycan, Susan Riley’s step-father, Danny, and her mother, Connie; Mrs. Brigadier Gloria Nunes, a bad fall.
