Texas Vehicles Accident - 6 dead

DALLAS (AP) — A massive crash involving more than 130 vehicles on an icy Texas interstate left six people dead and dozens injured Thursday amid a winter storm that dropped freezing rain, sleet and snow on parts of the U.S.

At the scene of the crash on Interstate 35 near downtown Fort Worth, a tangle of semitrailers, cars and trucks had smashed into each other and had turned every which way, with some vehicles on top of others.

“There were multiple people that were trapped within the confines of their vehicles and requiring the use of hydraulic rescue equipment to successfully extricate them,” said Fort Worth Fire Chief Jim Davis.

At least 65 people were treated at hospitals, with 36 of them taken by ambulance from the crash site, including three with critical injuries, said Matt Zavadsky, spokesman for MedStar, which provides the ambulance service for the area. Numerous others were treated at the scene and released, he said.

The crash happened about 6 a.m., as many hospital and emergency workers were heading to and from work, so some of those involved were health care workers and emergency responders, including police officers, officials said.

Mark G. - Covid Recovery

Today is normally my favorite day of the year because it not only used to be my Anniversary but it is the day I became a father. Today however, marks a different milestone for me, I find myself all alone in frozen wasteland with only Covid-19 to keep me company.  Sucks!   Pro tip: when you are trying to start over, you don’t have time to get Covid! Prayers appreciated.

Debbie D. - Health

I’m going to Honolulu tomorrow morning for another angiogram. That is when they go through my groin, heart and carotid artery up into my brain to do 3D imaging. Afterwards I have to be still for several hours. This is checking on my aneurysm to make sure it is still secure. I would appreciate your prayers.

Fred A. - Well Being

Lots of stuff going on here... emotions are ragged, feet are sore (gotta lose weight), but, I believe my heart is "in the trim"... thanks mostly because of my wife, Tawnya, who tells me straight up, what I need to do and encourages me the same. Three days of "rest" are up next (technically only 2, but...). Praying for emotional respite!

For my prayer warrior friends out there. Would love it if you would keep the city council in mind. We have been having numerous executive sessions. We have one again tomorrow starting at 9 am. Please pray for wisdom and leadership for all of the council. Thank you.

Susan D. - Parents Health

Yesterday my siblings and I received horrible news, our mom has stage 4 cancer in her gallbladder and it has spread to her liver. I don’t know the technical terms or much about cancer. Today the oncologist will be breaking the news to her. My sister will be in the hospital room with her and I will be on the phone as my mom is in the hospital in Tucson. We also have to break the news to my already very frail dad. We covet your prayers as we believe in the power of prayer and healing. Please pray for my parents , my siblings and the doctors that will be working with us to make my mom comfortable in the coming days.
