Mark G. - Vehicle Accident

Got smashed by a semi truck this morning on I-95. One semi hit another who slammed into me sending me smashing into the median and the car behind me smashed into me. 6 cars involved and everyone lived. I hurt from head to toe but Praise God nothing is broken. Admitted overnight for observation and pain control. All the times when I've been sick and say "I fell like I've been hit by a truck" - now I know what that feels like. I had to be extracted from my car which is totally destroyed. I couldn't get pictures of the outside of the car or scene but here are a few from inside. Seatbelt and airbags did their job and I am grateful to be alive. I thought I was a goner! Please pray for pain relief, especially my head, chest, and back. Pray for resources, I'm still recovering from the accident in June and the other two times I've been in hospital this year!

Joanna W. - Dad’s Health

This is an update on my parents: The doctor said everything went great with Dad's surgery! They put 2 balloons in and broke up the calcium so they could put the stent in. His artery was 99% blocked. He will be released from the hospital about 5:30. My mom is back with him now. Becca got to see him for a moment and he looks great! Praising the Lord for His mercy!

Thank you all for your continued prayers! 🙏 ❤️

Derek S. - Dads PTG

Dad. My hero.

The one who I wanted to be most like when I grew up. A man of God who was the embodiment of what it meant to be a follower of Jesus. Your love, wisdom, and integrity shaped me into the man and officer I am today. You welcomed in Angela and led our wedding ceremony. Your support, encouragement and influence lives on in us and in the lives of Nathan and Serena.

As people from across the USA Western Territory (and the world) have expressed their love and prayers for mom, Craig, Linnea, myself, and our whole family, it is evident the impact your love and ministry has had on others.

Now that your fight with cancer has finished and you have been Promoted to Glory, we will celebrate a life well lived, share the many stories of great adventures, and funny moments.

I will miss our chats. I will miss your hugs.

I thank the Lord for the blessing it is to be your son and will continue to honor the Lord with my life and calling as you did with yours.

Franklin G. - Jamaica - Samaritans Purse

Today I was in Jamaica at the Samaritan’s Purse Emergency Field Hospital and went to our clean water supply points as well as communities where we are helping families get tarps for their roofs to keep the rain out after Hurricane Melissa. There is still so much suffering and need. People have been without power for 40 days. Every home in Black River was damaged or completely destroyed by Hurricane Melissa. Our tarps are helping keep the rain off families—one man I met was so thankful to have his roof tarped and said it was the first dry night he had spent since the hurricane! I also saw many hurting patients at our field hospital—we have treated over 2,000 so far. They are so grateful that Samaritan’s Purse is there because otherwise they would have no place to go for medical care.

I thank God for our incredible team serving in Jamaica, and it was good to spend time with them. They have come from all around the world to serve with Samaritan's Purse in Jesus’ Name. Doctors, nurses, logisticians, water specialists, procurement, aviation team members, and more—all working hand-in-glove to bring much needed help in this time of crisis in Jamaica. The news may not be covering it anymore, but the need is still great. Would you join me in praying for the families in Black River who have lost so much and are trying to get back on their feet again?

Monica K. - Daughter

Well that escalated fast.

Katie came to work today complaining of a stomach ache. I noticed midday her eyes were kind of yellow. We are currently at the ER waiting to hear from a surgeon to determine what to do about her “angry gallbladder“. It will almost certainly be surgery. An MRI will determine what kind.

Joanna Dad’s Health Update

Update: Thank you all for continuing to pray for my family, especially my parents.  My dad finally heard back with a scheduled appointment for a stent to be put in next Tuesday,  December 16th. Also, my mom has an ultrasound appointment tomorrow to determine if she had a stroke. Also, my aunt is currently in a respite home while my parents navigate these challenges. ❤️ 🙏 I am very grateful that my sisters are doing so much to care for our parents. I really wish that I could be there to help,  but I am where I need to be. ❤️ May the Lord minister to each of them.

Steve S. - Jason’s Update

Update on on son, Jason and his year-long surgery. This is the most recent update shared by his wife, Kristy: “I called Jason and I just got a call from Jason's Doctor.

They believe Jason may be having some slow internal bleeding. Possibly near a muscle vein at the surgery site. They will go in laparoscopically with a camera to explore the original surgery site and the old. If for some reason they don't see anything. They will cut him open. We have an awesome surgeon who when I said we were praying for Jason, he said "He was praying too and that he would pray with Jason before the surgery." We are praying for God's wisdom and at the surgeon's hands would be God's hands. Jason's lethargic and scared. I have not had time to get to the hospital. Thank you for your, love, prayers and support.”

We greatly appreciate and covet your prayers. Thank you!

Joanna W- Parents

Please pray for our parents! Dad, Larry Vaughan, is still waiting for the doctors to decide if he needs the stent or if they want to do something else to open up the 90% blocked artery. He only has one good artery. He was supposed to have it done Tuesday or today but hasn't heard from the doctor. They aren't doing well with communicating with him!

Please pray for my mom, Carroll Vaughan, as she has possibly had a stroke. We don't know for sure as an MRI and ultrasounds need to be done, but her decline is sudden and rapid since Friday of last week.

My aunt has been living with them for awhile now and she has dementia so Dad is trying to get her settled in a home quickly.

We would appreciate your prayers!

I took this picture Tuesday night when we celebrated Dad's 81st birthday. I'm so thankful I took it! 😭

Amy M. - Daughter Update

Four months ago today… a moment that changed everything.

That phone notification still plays over and over in my mind — “Jaylyn was just involved in a minor crash.” A message no mother ever wants to read, and one I wish I could unread a thousand times. What we thought was something small became a journey we never imagined we’d be on.

These past 4 months have been filled with ups, downs, twists, turns, and emotions I never knew existed. This Thanksgiving holiday was especially hard to celebrate. Our family traditions of cutting down the tree, riding ATVs, laughing, and just being together simply didn’t happen this year. The reality of that hit us in a deep way.

This is one holiday season of celebration that will have to wait until next year, under our circumstances. But one day, I truly believe we’ll return to those moments — and they will mean even more than they did before.

I just want to laugh with her again… to hear her voice call me four times a day just to tell me about her work day, her plans, her life. I miss those simple things more than words can say.

Deep in my heart, I know one day those things will happen again. One day I’ll hear her laugh, see her smile, and listen to her talk about her dreams. But for now, she needs to rest — she needs this time for her brain to heal in its own way, in its own time.

Please continue to keep her in your prayers. We are holding on to faith, to hope, and to the belief that better days are coming.

Keep Fighting Baby Girl! 🎀 #JaylynStrong

Anne S. - Jason’s Health

Our son, Jason, has been on a journey this year that included healing from colon cancer. But 4 months after the surgery they discovered his intestines were leaking where the repairs had been made. This led to having to have a colostomy bag so that the colon repair could heal properly.  Praising God it has!! Today they are reversing the colostomy. We are praying that it will not only go well but that there are no after surgery infections and that all heals completely.  He is in surgery right now.  We ask that you join us in praying for him.

Pray for Nigerian Believers

✝️ Christians in Nigeria Are Refusing to Be Victims — They’re Turning to Jesus in the Midst of Genocide

In a land where Christian blood flows freely, hope is rising. As genocidal attacks erupt across Nigeria — churches burned, believers murdered, families destroyed — thousands of Christians are responding not with revenge, but with repentance and worship.

Across the Middle Belt and Northern regions, Christian communities are refusing to bow under pressure. Former militants, once complicit in atrocities, are now surrendering to Christ and becoming gospel-preachers. Widows, whose husbands were brutally slaughtered, are being healed and raised up. Entire villages marked for massacre are turning into prayer-houses of revival.

One ministry working on the ground reports that convoys of newly born-again believers are traveling through devastated regions — not carrying weapons, but Bibles. They go to destroyed church ruins, gather believers, and worship with songs, prayers, and faith testimonies. What the enemy meant for horror, God is turning into His harvest.

Meanwhile, attacks continue: just last week militants struck another church — killing more, kidnapping worshippers, leaving terror in their wake.

Yet rather than cower, Nigerian Christians are rising. They say this genocide may be meant to erase them — but instead it’s forging a remnant defined by faith, not fear.

Why this matters for every believer:

* It proves that persecution doesn’t extinguish the gospel — it refines it.

* It shows that spiritual warfare is real, but so is spiritual victory.

* It warns that global Christianity is no longer a bystander. This is **war**.

If Nigeria — facing genocide — can respond with faith, love, worship, and repentance, Christians everywhere have no excuse to remain passive.

Now is the time for the Church worldwide to stand with Nigeria — pray, speak out, support — and remember this: the same power that raised Christ from the dead is alive in His people.

Andrew Wolfe

🚨URGENT: Please pray for Andrew Wolfe, the National Guardsman that was shot in DC. His family is asking for a miracle as he fights for his life.

“God… we humble come before you in the mighty name of Jesus. And we ask for a miracle of complete healing and recovery for Andrew. We declare LIFE over him right now… and we ask you to comfort his family, give them peace beyond understanding. We ask that you would turn this tragedy the enemy meant for evil, into something good, like only you can do.

And we pray for protection over all of the National Guard, ICE, Border Patrol and LEO’s that leave their families every day to protect and serve all of us… in Jesus name, Amen” 🙏🏽

Urgent prayer for Hong Kong - November 26

At least 36 (update 55) (update 128) people have been killed in a major fire engulfing apartment blocks in the Tai Po district of Hong Kong, with 279 people not accounted for.

They provide 1,984 apartments for some 4,600 residents, according to the 2021 government census.

The Home Affairs Department has since opened several community centres as temporary shelters, with some schools also made available for relocation.

Please pray all survivors will be found. Pray the firefighters can extinguish this fire quickly. Pray for all those traumatized by loss of family members.

Nigeria School Abduction

Fifty of the 303 schoolchildren abducted from a Catholic school in north-central Nigeria’s Niger state have escaped captivity and are now with their families, the school authority said Sunday, as the pope called for the immediate release of those still missing.

A total of 253 schoolchildren and 12 teachers are still being held by the kidnappers.

Pray for Believers in Mozambique and DRC

As the relentless massacre of Christians in Nigeria grieves thousands around the world, violence against believers in Mozambique and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is also surging after extremists affiliated with the Islamic State claimed responsibility for slaughtering Christians in the latest spate of jihadist violence. Between both countries, 20 Christians are reported to have been beheaded in recent weeks.

According to the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), the Islamic State Central Africa Province (ISCAP) claimed responsibility for violent assaults on Christian villages in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where 18 people were beheaded.

Pray for Sudan

Prayer for Sudan - November 15

The ongoing civil war in Sudan, which began in April 2023, has resulted in an estimated more than 150,000 deaths over two and a half years. The conflict has spiraled into the world's largest humanitarian and displacement crisis, with millions facing famine conditions.

Nigerian Crisis

Armed men attacked a Catholic school in a western region of Nigeria early Friday morning, kidnapping dozens of schoolchildren and staff. The incident happened at St. Mary’s School in the Papiri community, according to officials. Local media reports suggest 52 schoolchildren were taken.

The Niger State Police Command said the abductions occurred despite prior intelligence warnings. Military and security forces have been deployed to the area. This attack follows a similar incident on Monday in Kebbi state, where 25 schoolgirls were abducted.

The perpetrators in this case are currently unidentified. But at least 1,500 students have been abducted in the region since Boko Haram jihadi extremists seized 276 Chibok schoolgirls more than a decade ago.

TSA Western Prayers - Middle East Region (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, UAE)

 Prayer Focus – November 17-23, 2025

Middle East Region (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, UAE)

Regional leaders:  Majors Doug and Janet Newman (NZFTS) Assistant Regional Leaders: Majors AmyJo and Paul Ferguson (USC)

MDE Region

Founded in faith, inspired by hope, and serving in love; The Salvation Army Middle East Region prays that God would continue to empower our faithful witness as we seek to grow saints throughout the Middle East. We praise God for the continued support of our partners in mission and for all those whose gifts help sustain The Salvation Army’s ministry throughout Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates.

Prayer Requests:

· As regional conflicts with international implications flare across our region, we are praying for reconciliation and peace in the Middle East. We also pray for the safety of the officers and soldiers who live and work in this area of the world and hold sacred our Christian calling to be peacemakers and reconcilers.

· We ask for continued prayer for official recognition and registration of The Salvation Army within the countries of the Middle East. We pray specifically for registration in the country of Bahrain where our regional headquarters is located.

· We pray for wisdom and perseverance in addressing the many challenges of operating within the context of the Middle East. Pray with us that our work would be sustainable and that we might leave a legacy of faith, hope, and love.

Bahrain

Registration of the Salvation Army here in Bahrain slowly continues its course. Nothing happens quickly here but we are in regular contact with our government contact and we are assured that everything is progressing. We have two corps here in Bahrain, a Tamil Corps and an International Corps. The international corps attendees are mainly from north Africa and are the victims of MSHT having paid money on the promise of work which doesn’t eventuate when they arrive. This ministry is heartbreaking and when we obtain registration, we feel we will be able to significantly speak into this situation.

Prayer Requests:

· The registration will be processed soon, and Bahrain can stand as a new country officially flying the Salvation Army flag as an independent Christian church.

· The compassion and understanding would prevail as authorities deal with those tricked and trafficked into both Bahrain and the Gulf region as a whole.

Kuwait

Whilst Christian worship within the church compound that we are in, can happen with relative freedom, outside those walls is a different story. The authorities are very strict around gatherings and any form of fellowship that might be considered a Christian activity. Any form of public celebration of Christian events such as Christmas or Easter is very quickly attended resulting in severe consequences such as arrest, imprisonment and deportation.

Prayer Requests:

· We pray that Christians would not be persecuted for expressing their faith and worship of Jesus. That peace and the true meaning of tolerance would prevail as people of faith work and worship in the same country.

Oman

God has been good to The Salvation Army in Oman which is led by passionate and capable soldiers. We thank God for raising up leaders to continue the mission in Oman. We praise God for the interdenominational support and cooperation that we experience within the church compounds in Oman. We are blessed to see an increase in children’s ministry and the number of children and youth in our corps who love to learn about Jesus and use their gifts and talents to praise him.

Prayer Requests

· Praying for the corps leaders in Oman. May God renew their strength as they serve faithfully in the name of Jesus. We also pray for more leaders and helpers. As the demands of the ministry increase may the burdens of each leader grow lighter by the miracle of God’s grace and provision.

· We pray for the resources to continue to disciple and grow the youth in the corps of Oman. There is a specific need for Christian education material in both Tamil and English.

United Arab Emirates

We are thankful for the grace which allows us to continue our ministry in the United Arab Emirates. We praise God that Salvationists from around the world can come to this country and benefit from the many opportunities available to them and that while they are here there is a place for them to serve and worship in The Salvation Army.

Prayer Requests

· Pray for a worship space in Abu Dhabi. We are praying specifically for a chapel to be available and for the necessary approvals to worship there to come soon.

Pray that the congregation in Abu Dhabi would grow and flourish as a space to worship opens.

· The ministry in the United Arab Emirates must be sustainable. Pray for the freedoms and resources to continue serving the soldiers who are living and working here.

Kathy R. - Hisbands Health

An update on Dan: Due to weakness in his legs, Dan was admitted to the hospital on Saturday. Please pray that with the help of physical therapy he will regain his strength so that he can walk safely and come home. He is at Santiam Hospital in Stayton receiving very good care. 🙏❤️

CBN - Pray for Nigeria

At least 25 Christians have been gruesomely murdered in the last 2 weeks as the ongoing genocide in Nigeria continues.

Nigeria remains one of the most dangerous places in the world to be a Christian, according to Open Doors' 2025 World Watch List. In a recent report, the organization noted that of the 4,476 Christians killed recently for their faith worldwide, 3,100 or 69 percent took place in Nigeria.

According to several reports, it has been a non-stop rampage as Nigeria's Middle Belt is littered with the corpses of slain Christians.

Rev. Simon Nbach of Flaming Fire Ministry in Anwule, Benue state, Nigeria, was among 10 Christians killed by Muslim herdsmen on Nov. 3. During the attacks, the extremists also burned down a Catholic Church building and destroyed dozens of homes.

Since 2009, 52,000 Christians have been killed in the country, and as CBN News reported, one of the worst attacks came during this summer. In June, an estimated 200 Nigerian Christians were killed after heavily armed Fulani jihadists attacked villages in Yelwata, in Guma County, Benue State.

Father and Daughter PTG

A father and daughter were killed in a small plane crash on Monday in Florida, which was bound for Jamaica on a hurricane relief mission, according to their ministry.

Alexander Wurm, 53, and his 22-year-old daughter, Serena Wurm, died after the aircraft crashed into a waterway in a residential area of Coral Springs, a suburb of Fort Lauderdale.

Ignite the Fire Ministry released a statement on Monday night, saying Alexander Wurm was known for his "warmth and unwavering kindness" and that he "devoted his life to serving others."

"Throughout his life, Alex travelled extensively, reaching various countries and continents, where he tirelessly worked to bring faith, compassion, and support to those in need. His legacy of faith and compassion touched countless lives," the ministry added.

The ministry said Serena Wurm, "following in her father's footsteps, was a beacon of empathy and hope, inspiring all with her commitment to humanitarian work."

Adding that, "Together, their final journey embodied selflessness and courage, reminding us of the power of service and love."

Alexander and Serena Wrum are survived by their wife and mother, Candace, and two children, son James, 17, and daughter Christiana, 20.

🥲This year has been characterized by significant challenges. My only sister, Shawn Elizabeth O’Leary, passed away in her sleep on Monday morning at the young age of 64.  Moving back to East Lansing over a year ago, Shawn found peace and community with her ELHS classmates and wonderful cousins. She recently experienced heart issues, and in typical O’Leary style, kept it low key. 🫶🏼🏀🍀

Peggy H. - The General’s Health

From General Lyndon Buckingham

“By now, many will have heard that I had a medical incident whilst celebrating the 95th anniversary with Hong Kong salvationists.

I was admitted to hospital where I received excellent intervention and treatment, in the form of heart angioplasty to clear a blocked artery.

I have responded to this procedure well and am expected to make a full recovery.

I have been discharged from hospital and am now resting, awaiting a follow up consultation with the cardiologist next Monday.

Bronwyn and I express our heartfelt gratitude for the many prayers and messages of support we have received since Saturday.

Our thanks to Territorial Leaders, Colonels Phil and Deslea Maxwell for their tremendous care and support.

We feel wrapped in the love of the global Salvation Army and give thanks to God for His providential care 🙏”

Alaska Typhoon

Whoa🤯😢, typhoon Halong has devastated parts of western Alaska. The entire villages of Kipnuk and Kwigillingok have been evacuated, in the one of the biggest airlift evacuations in the states history. All homes in those villages are deemed unlivable, homes were literally floating away. I couldn’t even imagine.
