"Pray for Jim. He was going to volunteer at an event for the Rotary today. He started to have chest pains and was taken by ambulance to Parkview. They ran test for over 6 hours and then admitted him. Not sure if it was his heart. I just found out about an hour ago-shocked the hospital did not call me. Jim is resting well, and is hungry-always a good sign. If it was not heart related he will get to go home tomorrow, so pray that all the test comes out negative. We also are to leave for London on Monday to see our grandkids which is always good medicine for him. So we will see if he gets an all clear for that! Thanks for your prayers!" Rose M.

Hurricane Iselle Recovery

Praise the Lord that He provided food, water, clothing, propane, cleaning supplies to the Salvation Army in order to help the people of Puna! For two weeks, The Salvation Army in Kona has come down to Hilo to help with giving out supplies! Praise the Lord for all who have helped out in outreaching this community! May God restore this community!

Bethany's Child - FB

FB family and friends.. urgent prayer request please. Our 2 month old granddaughter, Tahlia (Bethany's youngest) contracted a kidney infection due to ecoli about a week & half ago. She is not responding to the antibiotics like they want her to, and is still symptomatic. They are on the way right now to the children's hosp in VA to admit her. They are concerned for her kidneys. She will be undergoing quite a few tests. Please pray for peace for Bethany & Chris, wisdom for the Docs, and God's healing for our precious little one. This has been a trying couple of weeks for their family. Prayer covering please.

Mom's Fall

Mom Begonia had an accident (fell off a golf cart during WBC) on July 10. Her Doctors gave her a brace for her back due to a "cracked" single vertebrae.

praise the Lord, she is doing much better today. She is able to walk around with  care. It seems her back brace is really helping her heal. May God continue to  strengthen and comfort her during this time!

Commissioning Weekend

Praise the Lord for this weekend. So far, so good. Our Timbrel team did great.  Another team took home the price. It was a great experience for them! All Encore competition categories went really well (Praise the Lord for these young people - our future Leaders). Pray for all the cadets, teachers, and everyone involved in this weekend blast! Today is one of those days I very much dislike being an Officer. While most kids are excited about the last day of school, David is dreading having to say goodbye to friends he's made over the last four years. I know in the long run David will be fine, but that doesn't ease the heartache of today. When his heart aches, so does mine. A few days a year I dislike my calling and today is one of them. Praise the Lord that our trip to Oahu and back went really well. The kids (10) and Dalton (singing leader) had a blast enjoying each other's fellowship and playtime at the Kroc center. They were great during their singing company competition and timbrels! May they continue to draw near to God as they reflect on this experience and grow in Him!

Michael Evan Family

Please pray for the Evan Family. Michael Evan is the father of Angie and Micole (church family), and the grandfather of 11. Pray for continued peace and comfort for the family! Tonight was their funeral. It was a beautiful service. To God be the Glory!

Women's Rally

Praise the Lord the women's rally went well tonight. Our church did a great job hosting this event where women from Kona and Honokaa came to Hilo for a time of spiritual nourishment and fellowship. Thanks to my wife who orchestrated the decor and food prep. Special thanks to Major Harryiet R. and Major Merry S. for leading this event! What a blessing! May God continue to speak to each woman and draw each of them unto Himself! To God be the Glory!

Hawaii Islands Ministries (HIM)

The HIM conference started on Thursday and finished today. Wow! What a conference! Praise God for allowing the body of Christ in Hawaii to meet together at the Convention Center! Speakers includes Francis Chan, Victor Marx, Tony Compolo, and many More! To God be the Glory for guiding Pastor Dan Chu and his wife to spearhead this event! Pray that the people will go out and continue to proclaim the Gospel with renewed hearts and perspective!

Hawaii Business Conference

Please pray for our HBC tomorrow at Camp Homelani. Pray for safe travels for everyone and all the people who will be teaching.

New Carpet New Floor

Praise the Lord that our carpet and floor have finally been completed! Majors Chamness visited us yesterday for church and fellowship. We dedicated our building to the Lord during Sunday service! Praise God for providing us the resources (money and people). To God be the Glory!

Volunteer Help

A Christian school in Nevada has sent a team to Hilo on a week long mission trip. They are helping our Corps to replace our carpet and move things around. They will be helping us for 3 days.  We are so grateful! Pray for safety and Gods blessings on each of them!

Youth Councils

Please pray for our Hawaiian Youth Councils. Please lift up our eight young people and two leaders who are attending this event! May all who come be blessed and filled with God's Spirit! May God guide and bless all who are leading and cheperoning.

I just learned today that my friend's wife, Jamie Higby, went to be with the Lord in Glory. May God continue to strengthen and comfort Ricky, their two daughters - Emma and Ella, and their family during this difficult time. Ricky writes: A Celebration of Life service will be held for the lovely Jamie Higby on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Journey Church on Sheila Blvd in Prattville with Mike Mozingo officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brantwood Children's Home, 155 Sylvest Dr., Montgomery, AL 36117. She would truly appreciate your attendance as she loved you all so much. The Airmen of the Maxwell/Gunter Community, neighbors in the greater Montgomery area, family and friends--her goal in life was to serve; to serve YOU, of which she did exceedingly well. Hope to see you tomorrow to celebrate her.

Boot Camp

Keep my wife, Shoshannah, and Brett (our Youth Director) in your prayers as they are attending Salvation Army Boot Camp at Mount Hermon this week. May they absorb many great lessons and ministry techniques to be shared. Also pray for the rest of our Hawaii Divisional people that are there as well.
